Amity School of Distance Learning (ASoDL) organizes its 24th Biannual Meet
Amity School of Distance Learning (ASoDL) stands for high quality cost-efficient management learning. It has been catering to the educational needs of thousands of students and working professionals.
Continuing with this endeavour, Amity School of Distance learning (ASODL) organized its 24th Bi-Annual meet to start their new session and familiarize the new batch with the working of the institute. The ceremony started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Surendar Kumar, Chairman, Amity School of Distance Learning (ASODL), Wg. Com. S.K. Goyal, Vice President, Amity International Affairs Division and Mr. Abhinash Kumar- Dy Director, ASODL.
Welcoming the students to ASODL, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Surendar Kumar asserted the importance of distance learning in today’s fast paced world. He said that it is only with the support of industry, academia, faculty, staff and students that we strive to be better facilitators for enhancing our student’s competencies. It also widens the exposure to the prevailing business environment. While sharing his thoughts with the students he said, “faith in self is an essential factor as achievements in life begins with Aham Brahmasmi, that is, faith in self.” He also added that in the present day world there seems less of a disconnect between business and ethical conduct. He told the students to turn their dreams into reality, compassion and values which are significant. As compassion and co-option are becoming essential parameters of corporate functioning. Therefore distance learning aims at continuous learning and enhancing competencies of both head and heart. One should not expect to go through life seeking recommendation and favours but built own capabilities.
Mr. Abhinash Kumar appraised the students with Amity School of Distance Learning and its various programmes including PG Diplomas in various disciplines, MBA- 3 years, Executive MBA, corporate tie- ups of ASODL, programme cycle followed, teaching methodology, assignments, External and Internal assessments, Personal Contact Programmes (PCP) and various specializations offered at ASODL.
During the occasion, study material was distributed amongst the students. New students were familiarized with staff of ASODL operating from different centres in Defence Colony, Gurgaon, Saket, Janakpuri and Vasundhra. They were introduced to the culture and traditions at Amity. The function saw extensive interaction between the students and the management.
Amity School of Distance Learning was established in 2000, starting from a modest strength of 150 students with 8 programmes and has eventually grown to over 20,000 students with 19 specialized programmes. Since then, ASoDL has been continuously striving to provide quality education to the students.
