Dr. Alka Beotra, Scientific Director, National Dope Testing Laboratory delivers lecture at Amity University
Dr. Alka Beotra, Scientific Director, National Dope Testing Laboratory delivered lecture on "Drug Abuse in Sports" at Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Science.
Dr. Alka Beotra in her lecture said that the term doping refers to the artificial improvement of competitor performance through the use of drugs. Doping in sports is the deliberate administration of non-food substance with the purpose of enhancing the physical or mental condition of player. Dr. Beotra said that in the name of Nutritional Supplements, a big industry has come forward. Dr. Beotra advised the budding sportsman to eat fresh fruits and vegetbles instead of nutritional suppliments. Dr. Beotra said that World Anti Doping Agency is responsible to control the doping activities in all sports.
Prof. (Dr.) Kalpana Sharma, Director, Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Science, students and faculty of Amity University were present during the lecture session.
