Mr. Vaibhav Pareek, Senior Corporate Trainer at HCL delivers lecture at Amity International Business School

Communication is one of the most important aspects of life. If utilized correctly, it can be considered as one of mans most threatening instinct. On the contrary, if not harnessed properly, it can prove to unleash some dire consequences.

At Amity International Business School, students of MBA IB students were given an opportunity to be a part of a very productive and thought provoking lecture on the topic “Communication Compliance” by Mr. Vaibhav Pareek, Senior Corporate Trainer at HCL, India on October 12, 2011.

According to Mr. Pareek, a conversation can be divided into four stages.
1) Information Stage
2) Invitation Stage
3) Listening Stage
4) Acknowledgment Stage.

Too much of anything is good for nothing. This is a very lauded proverb which basically says that excess of anything is harmful. This applies in the case of a conversation also. A good orator knows that all the four stages mentioned above have to be balanced out. Excess of any one can prove out to bring sudden death to the conversation. Excess of the information stage can lead to formation of misconceptions about the nature of the speaker. Excess of the Acknowledgment stage can divert the attention of the speaker from the topic of discussion. Thus, in order to have a good conversation one has to balance the four stages of the conversation.

He concluded by recounting communication is a basic tool for mankind and should be handled properly.
