German Students from The Bavarian Elite Academy, Germany visit Amity university
Thirty German students from The Bavarian Elite Academy, Germany visited Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida to apprise themselves with the innovative courses offered by Amity University and to identify the areas of mutual interest.
These students are pursuing studies in diverse disciplines including Arts, Commerce, Science and Engineering with various Universities of Bavaria.
The students were welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh- Pro Vice Chancellor (International), Amity University and Director General, Amity International Business School along with Dr. Sanjay Srivastava- Head of Amity Business School.
Mr. Werner Boekels-Group HR Director, Linde AG, Dr. Thomas Wellenhofer- The Bavarian EliteAcademy and Mr. RS Sharma-Managing Director, DEININGER accompanied the German students.
Speaking during the occasion,
Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh said that world economy is growing at 1 percent whereas Indian economy and other Asian economies are growing at 9% p.a. In such a scenario, it has become imperative to develop synergy amongst various nations. Students need to understand the economies of other nations to become globally competent professionals. Talking about Germany and its prowess in the area of manufacturing and production, Prof. Singh said that one cannot overlook the fact that Germany produces the best engineers across the world and is reckoned for its production capability. He called upon the German students to identify the areas where the best resources from both the countries can be brought together for mutual benefit and enhancement.
Maj. Gen R K Dhawan- Director, Amity International Affairs Department gave a brief presentation on Amity outlining the various innovative courses offered by Amity, its national and global campuses, teaching fraternity and contemporary infrastructure.
The students were divided in two groups and were taken around the campus especially to Amity Business School, Amity International Business School, Amity Innovation Incubator, Amity Centre for E- learning and various laboratories.
The Bavarian Elite Academy is a foundation of Bavarian Industries which mentor students attending Bavarian Universities. Every year, 30-35 students are invited to join the training at Academy, simultaneously pursuing Masters or Doctorate.
