Amity University and Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR) begins Certificate Courses in “Management of Academic Institutions” for officers from Armed Forces and Certificate Course in “Business Management” for JCOs and ORs

Amity University and Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR) started three months Certificate Course in “Management of Academic Institutions” for officers from Armed Forces and six months Certificate Course in “Business Management” for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (OR) at Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida

Every year over 60,000 armed force personnel are retired/released at a comparatively young age, when most of them might have numerous unfinished domestic responsibilities. This necessitates their taking up second occupation. Amity Institute of Education and Training (AIET) with the support of DGR has been regularly conducting Resettlement courses for Armed Force Personnel. Over 300 personnel have already attended the course. Necessary guidance and assistance is provided to the officers for their placements.

Welcoming the august participants, Maj. Gen S Bindra- Sr. Director, Amity Institute of Education and Training presented a brief outline of the certificate courses, various modules that will be taught under the course and the benefits they will accrue to the participants. Maj. Gen Bindra, while addressing the armed force personnel, said that Amity salutes their undying spirit and love for country and as a service towards nation and armed force personnel, Amity has made this platform so that the these brave men can conquer the forts of boardroom too.

Sharing his views during the inauguration of the course, Gp. Capt. Rajesh Sharma- VM, Director (Training), DGR extended his heart felt gratitude to Amity University and its officials who have been meticulously designing course structure and imparting it with finesse par excellence. Talking about the course and the participants, Gp. Capt. Rajesh Sharma said that some of the enrolled participants are taking voluntary retirement very soon and some of them will be retired shortly therefore, it is imperative to chalk out their second career options. He, further, stressed that armed forces always aim at efficient and effective utilization of human resources and endeavor to ensure job opportunities for all its personnel even when they are no longer the part of armed forces. He expressed his hope that Amity University will chisel the talent of the officers to the best and will facilitate their smooth entry into the Corporate world.

Sharing his views on the role of “Business Schools in Career Transition”, Dr. Sanjay Srivastava- Additional DG and Head, Amity Business School said that armed force personnel are trained rigorously throughout their tenure, they are disciplined to face the difficult situation head on and tide over the same with requisite skil and finesse. The virtues which are needed to be successful in corporate are already imbued in them thoroughly, all they need is the knowledge and information about the nuances of management which rein the corporate world. Business Schools, by imparting them the managerial knowledge, ease their transition from war front to board rooms. Dr. Srivastava expressed that after the successful completion of the certificate courses, the participants can not only join corporate world but can also start their own ventures. Dr. Srivastava called upon the participants to be positive, happy and patient in order to climb the success ladder.

The three months Certificate Course in “Management of Academic Institutions” is being attended by over 30 officers and 6 months Certificate Course in “Business Management” is being attended by over 60 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (OR).

The inauguration was attended by officials from armed forces and Sr. members from the academic fraternity of Amity University including Maj. Gen R K Dhawan- VSM (Retd.)- Director, International Affairs Department and Dr. Phool Kaul- Director, Amity Institute of Education, Noida.
