Amity School of Rural Management organises Management Support Programme titled "Bank Linkages for the benefit of Self Help Groups" for the working managers, professioals from developmental organisations like NGOs and other related personnle engaged with the Socio-Economic developmeny of the rural areas.

Mr. R.K. Pandey, DGM, State Bank of Patiala, Mr. S.P. Jakhanwal, DG, ASRUM, Dr. P.C. Sabharwal, Director, ASRUM inaugurated the programme.

During the occasion Dr. P.C. Sabharwal, Director, ASRUM said that this programme will be very beneficial fro the participants to enhance thier knowledge towards availing finances thorugh banking institutions and implementing Rural Development Schemes and programmes. The grassroot level worker operating at block, village level need capacity building & training for bank linkage and its structural issues. Bank linkage of SHGs has been a very successful strategy for delivering financial services to the poor in a sustaibable manner. Dr. Sabharwal added that the two workshop will provide a platform to various Micro Finance Institutions, Bankers, Livelihood Promoters, Self Help Groups, Governmen Officials and NGOs to understand the importance and the fundamentals of Bank linkage with respect to SHGs.

During the programme, Dr. Pradip Kumar Sarmah, CEO, Centre for Rural Development presented his talk on "Bank Linkage Model - A Successful Nationwide intiative. Mr. Ram Avatar Sharma, Branch Manager, Gramin Bank delivered his lecture ion JLG Model of Bank Linkage.
