Delegation from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan visits Amity University Noida campus

An 11 Member Delegation from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida today to discuss about potential areas for collaboration.

The aim of the visit was to understand strengths of Amity in Teaching and Research and in turn to demonstrate what TMU has to offer, to define feasible models for future collaborations and explore ways to move forward the mutual partnership.

The delegation consisted of  Yen-Chou Chen, Director and Professor,International Graduate Program in Medicine; Jen-Chang Yang, Chairman and Professor,Graduate Institute of Nano medicine and Medical Engineering; Wei-Chung Yang,Director and Professor, Ph.D. Program for Translational Medicine;  Jung-Su Chang, Associate Professor, School of Nutrition and Health Sciences; Chung-Chien Huang, Associate Professor, School of Nutrition and Health Sciences; Pi-Chen Chang, Pi-Chen Chang, School of Nursing; Niall Duncan, Assistant Professor, Graduate Institute of Mind, Brain and Consciousness; Shabbir Syed Abdul, Assistant Professor,  Graduate Institute of Biomedical Informatics;Dawn Chen, Vice Dean, Office of Global Engagement; Amanda Chao, Program Manager, International Students Section and Joy Yeh, International Students Section

Welcoming the guests, Dr. W Selvamurthy,President- Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation briefed about the history and achievements of Amity. He further apprised about the research, innovations,patents and technology transfers by the scientists of Amity.

Apprising about Taipei Medical University, Ms. Dawn Chen, Vice Dean, Office of Global Engagement said that Taipei Medical University (TMU), founded in 1960 is Taiwan’s best Private University with outstanding performance in Teaching, Research, and Service. He further added that TMU Research focuses on areas including Cancer,Traumatic Brain Injury, Cell Therapy, Regenerative Medicine, Biomedical Materials, Tissue Engineering, Health and Welfare. He mentioned that 10Colleges of TMU have attracted Students from over 40 Countries in Medicine,Oral Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health, Nutrition, Medical Science and Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences. Affiliated with five Hospitals, TMU engage with partners around the world to enhance medicine education and health care provision. She lauded the innovations and research conducted by Amity and expressed that both the institutes can collaborate on mutually beneficial areas.

During the visit, delegation was taken for a campus round wherein they appreciated the contemporary infrastructure, state of art laboratories and amity innovation incubator facility.
