Independence Day Celebrations at Amity University
The University campus of Amity donned a patriotic look today as 71st Independence Day celebrations unfolded on the stage which was decked up with tricolor flags,ribbons, frills and balloons.
The occasion was graced by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group, Dr. Aseem Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University, Ms. Divya Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity Institute of Fine Arts and Fashion Technology and Dr. (Mrs.) B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University.
The celebrations commenced with hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Ashok K Chauhanin the presence of thousands of students, faculty members and staff of the University who were decked up in beautiful tri-color attires and accessories.
During the occasion, students presented a colorful cultural and patriotic extravaganza of melodious songs and soul soothing dances. The brilliant performers were also awarded.
Addressing the students, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan stated that the youth should understand the meaning and importance of freedom;our forefathers have struggled to ensure free and independent India for coming generations. He stressed that youth has been entrusted with the great responsibility to lead India onto the path of growth, success and glory. The people across the globe are looking upto India and they have great expectations from India and Indians.He opined there may not be any other university in the world where so many students, faculty members and staff come together to celebrate Independence Day which shows the love and respect Amity family has for the nation. He expressed his pride and joy for being part of Amity fraternity.
Sharing her views, Dr. B Shukla said that India owes its freedom to the people who kept country before their own selves and did not even think twice before sacrificing their lives. She reminded youth that today they are able to enjoy freedom because the soldiers at borders are on vigil round the clock, keeping enemies at bay. He called upon the students to let the spirit and flame of patriotism alive in them throughout their lives and try serving the country in whichever way they can.
