Delegation from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and Special Olympics Bharat, New Delhi visits Amity University Noida
A Delegation from Asian Instituteof Technology (AIT), Thailand and Special Olympics Bharat, New Delhi visitedAmity University Noida campus to interact and discuss the technical process forcollaborative project “SPECIAL OLYMPICS YOUNG ATHELETES RESEARCH PROJECT” between Asian Institute ofTechnology & Amity University (Amity School Physical Education and SportsSciences (ASPESS) and Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences).
The delegationconsisted of Ms Narumon Wangnai, Dr.Voravate Chonlasin and officials from Asian Institute of Technology alongwith 3 representatives from Special Olympics who were welcomed byDr. Lalit Bharadwaj, ASTIF; Dr. Kalpana Sharma, ASPESS; Dr. Jayanti Pujari,AIRS; Ms PremKanti, QAE and facultymembers from ASPESS & AIRS.
Dr. Lalit Bhardwajapprised about the history and achievements of Amity University followed bypresentations on ASPESS and AIRS by Dr.Kalpana Sharma and Dr. Jayanti Pujari, respectively.
The team had aninteraction with Prof. Dr. BalvinderShukla, Honorable Vice Chancellor, AUUP and Dr. J P Singh, Chairman- Amity Foundation for DevelopmentalDisabilities regarding the scope of research in the Indian Special Olympicsathletes and the nature of the study spanning the 3 years.
During theinteraction, Prof. Dr. Balvinder Shukla insisted that the objectives of thestudy are vital to be able to draw accurate inferences and to compare theassociated countries in the programme. She suggested that some signature sportsevents can also be organized in accordance and deliberations to the reviewmeetings so that it will add to the research outputs as well.
The delegationand senior officials of Amity discussed the tentative time line to initiate theresearch study as per the time line of completing the study in 3 years.
