Students of ATULASHA Noida awarded during Prize Distribution Ceremony of Annual Sports Day
Annual Sports Day of ATULASHA Noida, a school for underprivileged boys run under the vision and guidance of Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Vice Chairperson Amity Humanity Foundation was held at the University Campus, Sector 125 Noida.
Atulasha is a noble project wherein over 500 boys are provided with Education, Books, Uniform & Meals free of cost by Amity Humanity Foundation, a CSR initiative of the Amity Group and boys are enrolled from Nursery upto Class VII in Amity International Schools located in Delhi/ NCR.
During the Sports Day, races were conducted for the students including 25 meter race for Class KG and Class First, 50 meter race for Class Second and Third , Three Leg Race for Class Fourth and Fifth and 4*50 meter relay race for Class Sixth and Seventh. The Sports Day culminated today with the Prize Distribution Ceremony wherein over 150 students were awarded medals and prizes in various sports events. Mrs.Pooja Chauhan and Dr. Chanda R. Akhouri, Officiating Director, Amity Humanity Foundation along with other senior members of Amity Group presented medals to the sports winners. Arun, Class KG won 25 meter race; Shiva- Class III was the winner of 50 meter race; Karan- Class Vth and Shivam – Class IVth were awarded Gold Medals for winning three Leg Race and Shivam- Class VII, Shivam- Class V,Karan- Class V & Ritesh- Class V received the Gold Medal in 4* 50 meter relay race.
Amity School of Physical Education and Sport Sciences organized various sports competitions and also conducted five workshops for the students of Atulasha as part of Human Values Quarter -2017. The workshops focused on creating a Geographical awareness of India through physical activities wherein students were able to identify andlocate India on world map and its neighboring countries as well; Geographical awareness of India’s various regions (NEWS); Seasonal Awareness about India’s different regions during which students were able to differentiate between different weathers and identify weather condition of different region of India;Awareness about the metro cities of India and Awareness about the rivers of India.
Addressing the gathering,Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation said that teaching geographic process through sport is an effective way to engage students in natural phenomena. She mentioned that students must orient themselves with different activities other than studies and advised parents to inculcate moral values in children at home as well. School and Parents together can ensure holistic grooming of the students.
During the occasion, Atulasha students presented a dance representing the unity and solidarity of India.
