Amity Business School organizes Nukad Natak to raise funds for underprivileged Children
To raise the funds for charity and to spread awareness, about social issues afflicting society, students of Amity Business School, Amity University Noida organized a Street Play and Theater competition ‘Aakroosh” under the Dramatic Club “Goonj” at University Campus, Sector 125, Noida.
The main aim of Aakrosh was to create awareness about social issues such as Child Labour, Poverty, Injustice against Farmers, Equality, Domestic Violence, Child Molestation, Female Feticide etc. through Nukkad Natak and Theater Play and also raise funds for charity towards NGOs Atulasha (school for underprivileged boys) and Amitasha (school for underprivileged girls).
More than 15 teams from various colleges and institutions across Delhi/ NCR including Lakshimibai College; Hansraj College; Maharaja Surajmal College; Miranda House;Institute of Home Economics; Dyal Singh College; PGDAV; Shri Guru Gobind Singh College and IIT Delhi amongst others participated.
Sharing the importance of theater to spread social message, Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation said that theater is a strong platform which helps to sensitize people and to create social awareness. Nukad Natak today, is perhaps the best way to connect with the common man. Mrs Chauhan urged the students to understand the importance of the opportunities provided to them and act upon it with utmost responsibility.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Director, Amity Business School said that Nukad Nataks are important tool in creating awareness, empowering the youth which utilize the right to freedom of speech and expression positively.
The teams were adjudged by Mr. Mohit Tripathi, Alumni, National School of Drama and Mr. Hemant Raipuria, Acting Trainer, Chhaon Theater Group.
Team from Institute of Home Economics bags the first prize in Street Play Competition and Team from Hansraj College was awarded as First Runner Up.
Team of PGDAV, Delhi wins first prize in Theatre round and team from Lady Irwin College stood as First Runner Up
