Amity Institute of Education, New Delhi organizes day long National Seminar on “Beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi for Vibrant Youth – The Hope of India”

Amity Institute of Education, New Delhi organized day long National Seminar in association with Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi on the theme “Beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi for Vibrant Youth – The Hope of India” at Amity Campus, Saket, New Delhi.

Over 386 participants registered for the seminar, out of which 142 were from various Universities and Schools across Delhi and NCR. The summary is as follows:

Mr. Rajdeep Pathak, Program Executive, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi and Shri Laxmi Dass, Vice President of Harijan Sevak Sangh, New Delhi, Dr.Ranjana Bhatia, Principal Cum Director, Amity Institute of Education,Saket, New Delhi inaugurated the Seminar.

During the inaugural session, Dr. RanjanaBhatia, Principal Cum Director, Amity Institute of Education, New Delhi welcomed the participants. The key note address was delivered by Shri Laxmi Dass, Chief Guest of the seminar. Mr Rajdeep Pathak was also invited to address the young audience during the inaugural session.

The daylong seminar was divided into four technical sessions. The theme of the first technical session was “Environmental Ethics and Gandhian Approach” and the speaker of this session was Mr.Sopan Joshi, Senior Environmentalist and Author, New Delhi.

The theme of the second technical session was “Role of Youth Volunteer for Constructive Work” and the speaker for this session was Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Senior Gandhian.

The theme for the third technical session was “Relevance of Gandhi's Concept of Non-Violence in the Contemporary World” and the speaker was Dr. Salil Mishra, Professor, Ambedkar University.

The last session of the seminar was on the theme “Understanding Gandhi in the context of his Constructive Action” by Dr. Aparna Basu, Chairperson of National Gandhi Museum, Rajghat.

The theme of the seminar gave a food for thought to all the participants. Every session ended with a question and answer round. The interaction between the speakers and the participants was very productive.

During the valedictory session, Ms. Tara Gandhi, Vice-Chairperson of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti and daughter of Gandhi ji’s youngest son, Devdas Gandhi presented the certificates to the participants.
