Amity Institute of Education, New Delhi organizes National Seminar on “Bharat ke Jiwan, Sahitya v Kala mein Ramkatha”
Amity Institute of Education, Saket in association with Ayodhya Research Centre, Govt. of India, Faziabad started two day National Seminar on “Bharat ke Jiwan, Sahitya v Kala mein Ramkatha” at Amity Campus, Sector 125, Noida.
The national seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Saroj Bala, Director, Institute of Scientific Research on Vedas, New Delhi; Prof. Y P Singh, Director, Ayodhaya Research Centre, Govt. of India. Faziabad; Mr. Vinod Khanna, Former Indian Ambassador at Indonesia and Dr. Ranjana Bhatia, Prof & Principal, Amity Institute of Education.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Ranjana Bhatia said that the Ramayana is not just a story but also an educational medium to demonstrate the importance of values. She mentioned that it is important to teach Ramayana to youth as it depicts characters that people should aspire to be like. Dr. Bhatia emphasized that such programmes connect the youth to their cultural roots.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Y P Singh said that there is a rich tradition of Ramkatha, Ramleela and Ramayana which is depicted over the years through paintings, sculptures, music, play etc. He emphasized that the cultural heritage of any country holds a very important aspect. He apprised that it is a matter of pride that the rich cultural tradition of Ramayan has transcended the boundary across the globe. Mr. Singh further briefed about how different states and nations present Ram Leela through various modes of communication like play, painting, wall art, puppet show etc.He called upon the students to witness traditional portray of Ramleela atAyodhya.
Sharing her views on ‘Ramayan Retold through Scientific Evidences’, Dr Saroj Bala said that after the years of research, there are scientifically proven facts that Ramayan is not a myth story. She mentioned that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had said that astronomical calculations making use of planetarium softwares have proved the vents narrated in Valamiki Ramayn. She apprised that Maharishi Valmiki has perfect knowledge of geography of Indian Sub-continent. More than 150 memorials have beenidentified by researchers on exile route of Shri Ram, right from Ayodhya to Rameshwaram. Dr. Bala pointed out that studies have proved that Ramayan is true ancient history of India that has been home to world’s oldest civilization. She averred that various botanic and astronomical proofs have been found as 7000 years’ old evidence to support Ramkatha.
The first technical session was conducted on Ramayana Itihas ya Mith by Dr. Rachna Bimal, Asst. Prof, Satyawati College, Delhi University.
