Amity Youth Fest 2017- the three day knowledge and entertainment extravaganza begins at Amity
Amity Youth Fest 2017- the three day knowledge and entertainment extravaganza commenced today at University Campus, Sector-125, Noida with participation of thousands of students from Colleges and Institutions across Delhi/NCR in various informative and competitive events.
Amity Youth Festival (AYF'17) is an unparallel and unique forum which aims at providing experiential learning to the students, tests their intellectual and artistic prowess simultaneously opening up avenues for sharing mutual experience, skills and talent, thereby realizing their collective and individual aspirations in the area of culture, literary and other activities.
The first day of the Fest witnessed the commencement of over 60 Inter-Institutional events/competitions/workshops by various Institutions of Amity such as “Verbum Bellum- Debate”, Poster Making Competition, Web Designing, “Kalam- Web Based Writing Competition”, Code Hunt, Photography Competition, “Timecode- International Film Festival”, Crime Scene Investigation, Ethical Hacking, Snap Story Challenge, “Amity Mock Parliament”, Digital Poster Design Competition, Comic Making Competition, Robo Expedition Workshop, Autocad Workshop, Sensors Workshop, Internet of Things Workshop and others.
During Mock Parliament organized by Amity Law School, Centre-II, Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, Former Chief Justice, Patna High Court and Mr. Tarun Vijay- BJP Leader and Former MP, Rajyasabha addressed the budding lawyers.
Mr. Tarun Vijay- BJP Leader and Former MP, Rajyasabha, while speaking during the occasion, stated that Mock Parliament is a fine example to apprise students with the conduct of Parliament. He remarked that India received its freedom after lot of difficulties and hardships and some part of India was maliciously annexed by immediate neighbors. He called upon the students to know the history of the country and their roots which will help them to become good leader and great parliamentarians. He remarked that education is of no use, if it is not directed towards the growth or development of the nation and urged the youth to actively participate in the politics to change the society. He opined that a successful person is not the one with good position, successful career or wealth but the one who works towards the well- being of people and contributes towards development of the country.
During the Mock Parliament, students were divided into 4 Committees including Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Stake holders Meet and Futuristic War Cabinet wherein students discussed various agendas such as “Demonetization, Foreign Development Policy, Personal Law and Indo- Pak War.”
Sharing his views, Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari- Former Chief Justice, Patna High Court said that India has a largest parliament democracy and budding legal professionals should be aware about the nuances of the parliamentary debates of conduct. He remarked that the essence of democracy is to have a right to agree or disagree over issues and constructive debates are very important in parliamentary debates without which the growth of the Nation is not possible. He stressed that in a Parliament, opposition should not merely criticize government policies just for the sake of downplaying the Government and people’s trust need to be but over elected representatives by the political parties to ensure peace and harmony.
Amity Institute of Psychology & Allied Sciences (AIPS) started three day “PERSONA 2017 (AYF 2017)” as a part of Amity Youth Festival 2017. PERSONA is a unique platform where fun, flare and enjoyment are blended with sensitivity to spread awareness and get enthusiastic participation of youth on emerging perspectives in Psychology and their relationship to the happiness and wellbeing of humanity. The theme for this year is ‘Wheel of Life’ for the Students events. A series of Psychology workshops “Shadow to Light” are also scheduled as a part of Persona 2017.
Prof. (Dr.) Dwarka Pershad- Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Psychowaves, Dr. A. Abraham- MD, Director, Mindmaster Master, Practitioner in Neuro Programming and Life Coach and Prof. (Dr.) Tarlochan Singh Randhawa, Professor, Punjab University inaugurated “PERSONA 2017”
Addressing the students, Prof. (Dr.) Dwarka Pershad- Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Psychowaves said that Persona is not only thinking about one’s own life but it is about proper utilization of energy in good direction. He stressed that age does not determine how young a person is built its energy and hard work that determines a person’s age.
In Dramataaz- Street play and Broadway, over 25 Teams participated from various Colleges including Ramjas College, Sushant College of Architecture, Sharda University, Gargi College, Sri Venkateswara College, Jesus and Mary College and others. Through their hard hitting and amusing plays, students tried to disseminate social messages of women empowerment, girl education, gender equality, poverty and child labour.
In Digital Poster Making Competition, 50 Teams from colleges such as Jamia, JIMS, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Noida International University, Birla Institute of Technology, MNIT- Jaipur.
Amity School of Foreign Languages organized “European Dance Competition” wherein 8 Teams participated from Bharti College, Delhi Technical College, Jesus and Mary College, JMC, KC College- Greater Noida and Amity University. Vinayak Swami- a student from Delhi Technical College won the Competition.
During the second day, a plethora of workshops, competitive and entertaining events will unfold including Mr. Amity Fitness Competition, Classical Dance Competition, Face Painting, Ethical Hacking, 3D Painting Workshop and others. International Artists will perform as part of cultural evening including María del Mar Fernández , Spanish Flamenco Singer best known in India for her rendering of the song Señorita from the 2011 hindi film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara; Band Shtuby and famous Israeli Drummist Oded Kafri from 6pm onwards
