Amity Test Prep organizes a Seminar on “Digital Learning”

To abreast the teachers on the importance of e-learning as new pedagogy, Amity Test Prep a part of Amity Education Group organized a Seminar on “Digital Learning” at University Campus, Sector 125 Noida.

The seminar witnessed the participation of more than 150 teachers from 35 schools across Delhi/NCR including Delhi Public School; Modern School, Vaishali; Indirapuram Public School, Ghaziabad; DAV, Jasola; Amity International School,Noida; Alcohon International School, Mayur Vihar etc.

Welcoming the gathering, Mr. Abhay Chauhan, Vice President, Amity Education Group said that the participation of so many teachers reflect their dedication towards new learning and students. Mr. Chauhan averred that many students from various small cities travel to metro cities in search of better education and infrastructure. The vision of Amity is to provide quality education to everyone at their respective places through digital learning technologies. He further added that Digital learning has benefits for both learners and educators as it enable students to grasp concepts more quickly while connecting theory and application adeptly. Also, Digital assessments offer students rapid feedback on their understanding, allowing both students and instructors to concentrate their efforts on specific areas where further understanding is most needed.Lauding the contribution of teachers, Mr. Chauhan announced to commence Amity Annual Teachers Awards to recognize the role of teachers in nation building.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Stalin Malhotra, Educationist with Digital learning,a new dimension in education has been redefined which is making learning better, paced, relevant and most importantly, child centric. He mentioned that initially, digital contents were designed to cater a certain segment of audience but with changing times, it has evolved significantly. He called upon the teachers to be part of the change as teaching is a constantly evolving process. He stressed that master teaching involves progress, constant work,constant doing and constant updation. Sharing the aspects of digital learning,Dr. Malhotra said that e-learning has various significant characteristics including easy availability of study material, dynamism in content matter in sync with updated syllabus, content designed with a unique blend of modernity and tradition and learning at one’s own pace. He averred that digitization isthe need of the hour but teachers shouldn’t feel threatened from it. Technology is to felicitate the teaching methodology and not to replace the teachers.

Sharing his views, Mr. Steve Eatock, UTalk said that the world is changing fast and it is important to learn foreign languages. He emphasized that there are various cognitive benefits of learning another language including Memory improvement, longer attention span. Therefore, teachers should encourage students to learn new languages. Mr. Eatock further briefed about his organization UTalk and said that UTalk have been helping people to love learning languages for 25 years. It offers over 130 languages which are spoken by 98% of world’s population including all national languages. He pointed that technology has changed the way people learn and access education, particularly languages. Now, a person can easily master a language through e-learning.

During the day seminar, various sessions were conducted to update participants about Smart Class Learning, Amity Test Prep for the students preparing for JEE andCBSE and Online Education.
