International Law Students of BRICS Countries undergo training on Indian Legal System at Amity University
As part of BRICS initiative for legal talent development programme, Amity University started four-day training on the Indian Legal System for 20 International Law Students, Professors and Professionals from ‘BRICS’ member countries at University Campus Sector 125 Noida.
BRICS’ is acronym for the association of five major emerging economies of the World viz. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Welcoming the guests, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said that BRICS nations are immensely contributing towards the economic development of the world. She mentioned that it is a vital alliance of countries who have a common goal to create more inclusive and democratic system. Dr. Shukla pointed that at present time, BRICS countries still face many challenges and it is incumbent to create legal framework in which the member countries can continue to develop. She averred that the training will deliberate upon various aspects in legal field with aim to improve the systems of emerging world.
Sharing her excitement, Ms. Angelina Papulova, student from Russia said that it is a great opportunity to be part of the training programme at Amity. She mentioned that the reason of her participation was to seek knowledge on Indian Taxation System. Ms. Papulova expressed her hope that such programmes will enhance corporation between BRICS countries.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. D K Bandopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law Schools said that the aim of the programme is not just about imparting legal knowledge but also sharing the cultural aspects. He apprised that the training programme is designed to provide complete skill development on Indian Legal System and Foundation Judicial Structure. Prof. Bandopadhyay called upon the budding legal professionals to participate more in such programmes as it will help them in nurturing required skills for achieving global success in the profession.
During the four day programme various sessions and lectures would be organized including Lecture on Foundation of Indian Judicial System by Mr.Pawan Sharma; Indian Constitution: Faculty Session on Law and Philosophy by Ms. Sonali Roy; Insight to Indian Legal History by Dr. Shefali Raizada,Additional Director, Amity Law School Noida; National Intellectual Property Law Policy by Mr.Mayank Kapila and Ms Palka; Legal Entrepreneurship Session With a blend of Corporate Laws by CS.Monica Suri and Facets of Environmental Law In India by Ms. Shilpa Mehrotra /Ms. Ankita Banerjee amongst others.
