“Amity Youth Fest 2017”- the knowledge and cultural extravaganza- The Curtain Raiser commences

Mesmerizing International performances from Korea, Tibet and vibrant Indian cultural performances by Amity students marked the commencement of three day “Amity Youth Fest 2017” from February 16-18, 2017 at University Campus, Sector 125 Noida.

Amity Youth Festival (AYF'17) is an unparallel and unique forum which aims at providing experiential learning to the students, tests their intellectual and artistic prowess simultaneously opening up avenues for sharing mutual experience, skills and talent, thereby realizing their collective and individual aspirations in the area of culture, literary and other activities. AYF’17 -knowledge cum entertainment festival will be a blend of more than 100 cultural and technical events, workshops and competitions including Fashion Show, Aphesia- battle of Bands, Dramataaz - Broadsway Theatre Competition,Oscillation - Western Dance Competition, Mr. Amity Fitness Competition, Amity Mock Parliament and Virtual Merchandising Competition amongst others.

The fest was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Radu Octavian Dobre- Ambassador of Romania,Ms. Adva Vilchinski, Political Affairs Advisor, Embassy of Israel, Mrs.Tsering Dolma- SOS TCV Youth Hostel, Mr. Jung- Director, International Youth Fellowship , Korea, Mrs. Lee Yang Suk- Wife of  Mr. Jung and Dr.(Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Patron, AYF

Declaring the fest open, Dr. (Mrs.) Balvinder Shukla said that Amity Youth Festival provides an opportunity for holistic development of the students.“Amity encourages the concept of the World as a global village and believes in providing cross cultural experience to students and the Amity Youth Fest is yet another initiative through which students are acclimatized with rich culture and traditions of other countries through International performances”, remarked Dr. Shukla. She congratulated students for the hard work they have put in to organize AYF’ 2017 and called upon them to give their best and learn the most from three day event.

Sharing her views, Ms. Adva Vilchinski, Political Affairs Advisor, Embassy of Israel said that India is a huge country with over 50% of population under 25 years of age, who are eager to take on the challenges head on and change the world. She praised Amity for creating an ecosystem of innovation and research amongst the students. Lauding the collaborations between India and Israel, Ms. Vilchinski averred that Israel takes prides in growing partnership between the two nations and to further strengthen the relations in academic front, the Embassy of Israel has signed three MoUs with Amity University.

During the event, Dr. Anthony Raju, President, All India Council of Human Rights,Liberties & Social Justice, along with revered guests present during the Inaugural ceremony, launched a Poster on Cancer Awareness.

Talking about the “Cancer Awareness Initiative”, Dr. Raju stated that All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice has been undertaking various social projects for the betterment of society. He briefed audience that “Cancer Awareness Initiative” will be taken across the country, including all strata of society to make an impact in the lives of one and all.

Students from Amity presented an amazing mélange of semi-classical, classical and regional performances which included Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Bhangra. The vibrant performances left the audience mesmerized.

The colorful and resplendent dances by the performers from Tibet and Korea lifted the spirits of the audience and left them completely enrapt with the cultural richness of the countries.

Students from National Association of Deaf presented National Anthem in sign language,which was coordinated by Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences
