Students of Amity Business School participate in BRICS Trade Fair 2016

BRICSis the acronym for an association of five major emerging national economies, Brazil,Russia, India, China and South Africa. The grouping has held annual summit since2009 with member countries taking turns to host. 

The recent BRICS Summit tookplace in  Goa, India,  BRICS Trade Fair organised by FICCI(Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerceand Industries) at Pragati Maidan, Delhi from the 12th to 14thof October. The BRICS Trade Fair was organized onthe theme 'Building BRICS - Innovation for Collaboration'. While there wereseveral sectors of interest to BRICS countries that were represented at theTrade Fair, the focus was to showcase some of the best technologies availableacross BRICS nations to address BRICS countries main development challenges.The BRICS Trade Fair also focussed on Start-ups and endeavoured to bringtogether young entrepreneurs from across BRICS nations on this platform.

Amity students got an opportunity to volunteer and coordinate in theBRICS Trade Fair. All the students were divided into different groups andmanage different areas. On the 12th of October ,a group of 25students were divided into two groups to facilitate the B2B meetings takingplace between the delegates from the different countries. A group of fivepeople were present at the helpdesk of the B2B lounge, to help the delegatesfind their schedule for the day and also, help them in finding the business delegatesthey have a meeting with, hence smoothening the entire process.

The other group, consisting of twenty people distributed the‘delegate-form’ to the delegates and the ‘exhibitor-form’ to the exhibitors soas to fill in the basic details of their business transaction, and at the endof the day, collected the same from them.

On 13th,the BRICS Business Forum took place, where theVice President of India, Mr.Hamid Ansari .Twenty eight students from Amity  were assigned the task to escort the delegatesfrom the gates to the venue. A few of them got the opportunity to escort theministers around the venue for the inaugural. The students of Amity also helpedthe FICCI team with the management of the stage and the volunteers also had theprivilege of attending the entire business forum.
