Overwhelming participation of students from Colleges across Delhi/NCR in Amity Youth Festival 2017

As part of three days Amity Youth Festival, the University Campus turned into a colorful and vibrant canvas on the second day during the Poster Making Competition organized by Amity School of Foreign Languages. Over 25 young artists from Bharti College, Delhi University and Amity University participated enthusiastically to display their creativity and to spread the message of “One World”. 

 

The participants were judged on the basis of their creativity and how finely they used their imagination to bring out the theme of “One World”

 

During the AIRSHOW, organized by Amity Institute of Aerospace Engineering, budding Aeronautical and Engineering students showcased their innovation and creativity by designing models of drones and flyers.

 

The show witnessed the participation of more than 50 students who displayed their models including Heavy Transport Aircraft, Triplane, H Shape Tail Design Planes, Trainer and Nitro Planes amongst others.

 

Nrityash-Classical Dance Competition witnessed the participation of 18 teams across Delhi NCR and showcased their prowess in classical dance forms including Thumri, Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Manipuri, Kathak etc. The competition was judged by Ms. Saswati Sen - leading Indian exponent of Kathak.

 

Applauding the performances, Ms. Saswati Sen said that the all the dance performances were visual feast and reflected the dedication of dancers towards maintaining the sacredness of a tradition with creativeness. She apprised that Indian Classical Dance reflects the glorious past and greatness of nation and still holds a place of pride in the field of dance.

 

Amity School of Communications organized TimeCode- IMY Film Fest wherein eight short films made by students of various colleges including Delhi College of Art, Lovely Professional University, IMS, Ramjas and others were screened.During the day, Ms. Kathy Stevewalk- Canadian Film maker presented a talk on creating good documentary and storytelling techniques.

 

As part of entertaining cultural evening, International Artists -María del MarFernández , Spanish Flamenco Singer best known in India for her rendering of the song Señorita from the 2011 hindi film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Band Shtuby and famous Israeli Drummist Oded Kafri performed in the Main Sports Ground which was thronged by thousands of students.

 

The evening of first day of Amity Youth Fest 2017 was bedecked with “KREATIV ’17–Inter Institute Fashion Design Show Competition” organized by Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) on the theme “Indian Textiles”.

 

Over 11 Teams from various Institutes and Colleges participated in the Show including Apeejay Institute of Design,  Pearl Academy- Noida, Institute Of Home Economics, Indian Institute of Art &Design; Learning Institute For Styles & Arts,  INIFD- Varanasi ,IMS  Design & Innovation Academy,  Institute Of Fine Arts,Modinagar , Sharda University,  International Institute Of Fashion Design, Gurgaon and Satyam Fashion Institute.

 

The first Team to walk the ramp was from Satyam Fashion Institute and the models displayed a rich mix of Khadi Silk and Brocades in bright huesof Red, Blue, Green and Orange, setting the stage ablaze with the confident gait and appealing attires.

 

All the teams beautifully entwined various textiles found in India ranging from Batik, Kalamkari, Crepe, Silk, Brocades, Khadi Cotton, Phulkari,Kantha Work, Rabari Thread work, Saturn and Georgette with abundant use of “PomPoms” which accentuated the beauty of their outfits. The participants, with their creations, brought alive the richness of Indian textiles associated with various States of India.

 

The Team from IMS-Design and Innovation Academy presented a very innovative Concept of “From Inorganic to Organic” and the participants sashayed down the ramp indifferent outfits made of Khadi Cotton.

 

The Team from Amity School of Fine Arts, Gurgaon presented an alluring contemporary collection in vibrant colors including Persian Blue to Parrot green, red,orange to yellow.

 

The Teams were adjudged by Ms. Neelam Singh, Founder, Kohinoor Experts Pvt.Ltd.;Ms. Kamal Kapur, MD, Achievers Consulting; Ms Bhavya Goel, Fashion Designer & Founder, AEOMCOUTURE and Ms. Taruni Goyal, Fashion Designers& Founder, SHUBHAM AND TARUNI.

 

The Team from Apeejay Institute of Design was declared the winner,followed by INIFD- Varanasi and Pearl Academy, Noida respectively and the winners were awarded by Dr. Aseem Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity, Dr. (Mrs.) BShukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University and Dr. Pradeep Joshi- Director General, Amity School of Fashion Technology and Amity School of Fine Arts.
