Centre for Cyber Crime Investigation (CCCI), UP Police signs MoU with Amity University for capacity building of UP Police with regard to Cyber Crime Investigation
Centre for Cyber Crime Investigation (CCCI), UP Police and CYBORGCyber Forensics and Information Security (CCFIS), Amity Innovation Incubator,Amity University have signed an MoU today during the inauguration of CCCI atSector-6, Noida for capacity building of UP Police with regard to Cyber CrimeInvestigation, creating mass awareness about cyber crimes and the ways ofprevention and protection through the police force.
The Centre, as part of MoU signed, will refer cases, wherever appropriate, toCCFIS, Amity University for analysis of Cyber Crime Data and seek expertopinion which can withstand the legal security in the Court of Law. Collaboration between CCFIS and CCCI also includes Cyber Forensic Analysis ofsuch crimes, collaborative research through the case studies and developing adata base of all cyber crimes and the outcome of investigations which could beshared with other police forces across the country.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Dinesh Yadav, SP City, Noida and Dr. JS Sodhi- Executive Director, Cyborg Cyber Forensics and information Security,Amity University.
Dr. W. Selvamurthy- President - AmityScience, Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), during hisaddress, mentioned that CCCI with CCFIS collaboration, will strive to emerge asa model Centre of Excellence which could be emulated by other state PoliceDepartments. He also assured on behalf of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, FounderPresident, Amity Group of Educational Institutions that Amity will accord highpriority and focus/thrust for this important endeavour which is of nationalimportance.
Mr. Dinesh Yadav had a series ofconsultations with Amity University to plan, design and equip this centre inthe form of hardware, software and also expressed his desire to involve Amityon a long term basis as a Knowledge and Technical partner.
Today, Centre for Cyber CrimeInvestigation (CCCI) was inaugurated at Sector-6, Noida by Shri Javeed Ahmad-DGP, Uttar Pradesh in the presence of Mr. Sujeet Pandey- IG, Meerut Zone, ShriN P Singh- DM, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Smt. Lakshmi Singh- DIG, Meerut Range,Meerut, Shri Kiran S- SSP, Gautam Buddh Nagar, UP.
The following 4 major divisions have been created in the Centre:
1. Mobile Phone Surveillance
2. Social Media Investigations
3. E-mail tracking
4. Evidence Collection
The Centre aims at skill development of Police Personnel, assistinginvestigators in Cyber Crime Investigation, conducting Cyber Crime AwarenessProgrammes to prevent Cyber Crimes and to prepare the facilitation of an SOPfor Investigation of various Cyber Crimes.
