Green Dream- Tree Plantation Drive at Amity

With the vision to sensitize the importance of green environment, Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences in association with Atulasha - an NGO for empowering underprivileged boys, AUUP organized GREEN DREAM - TREE PLANTATION DRIVE under Amity Human Values Quarter at Amity University Campus, Noida.

 “Amity Human Values Quarter” is a cherished activity in the University providing an opportunity to students and Amity fraternity to introspect and dedicate them to the cause of the society. As we look at the ways in which culture, values,and the very nature of human beings have shaped our environmental beauty, human values are a dominant source for sustaining the environment.

The objective of the Tree Plantation Drive was to spread awareness on green dream amongst students and imbibe the culture of living in harmony with Mother Earth on a genuinely sustainable basis. The activity imbibed a sense of value of tree plantation, protection of the environment by making a pollution free earth.

Motivating the students, Mrs. Pooja Chauhan - ViceChairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation asked them to transform and protect the environment. She encouraged the students to spread awareness amongst their friends,relatives and society for the conservation of environment and importance of tree plantation.

During the occasion,  the students of Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences presented a skit on engaging communities to plant trees, describing multifaceted role of trees, training them in the art of planting and caring for trees inculcating values of integrity , social responsibility, environmental conservation , brotherhood and humanity.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jayanti Pujari ,Director & Associate Professor, Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, AUUP said, “We at Amity strongly believe in striving towards the initiative of honorable Prime Minister’s “Swachh Bharat Mission” by propagating the thoughts of clean and green society amongst its students for the betterment of nation . The tree plantation drive at Atulasha has made each one of us think ethically about the environment and its utmost protection. The passion and commitment by the students of ATULASHA and Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, AUUP is highly commendable.”

The event was also graced by Dr. Chanda Rani Akhouri,Officiating Director, Amity Humanity Foundation, students and faculty's of Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences , AUUP and ATULASHA . The event was coordinated by Ms. Anusuya K. Yadav, Assistant Professor, Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, AUUP.
