“Smart Villages need to co-exist with Smart Cities in India”, says Hon’ble Shri P. Bhattacharya, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha during the inauguration of International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies and Optimization (ICRITO’2016) at Amity

Amity Institute of Information Technology (AIIT) started 5th International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies and Optimization (ICRITO’2016) at University Campus,Sector-125, Noida.

Hon’ble Shri P. Bhattacharya, Memberof Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, Dr. K Subramanian-Honorary Adviser (IT) and Ex. IT Advisor to CAGof India and Founder Director & Professor, ACIIL, IGNOU and Mr. Rahul Tandon- Sr. Vice-President-Telecom Business, Syscom Corporation Ltd.inaugurated the Conference.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sunil K Khatri-Director, AIIT & General Chair, ICRITO 2016 said that Information Technology is all pervasive be it Defence, Health or Education Sector and it is very important to provide safe, reliable and fault free IT platform to ensure efficient functioning of all sectors. He outlined various topics which will be covered during the three day Conference including “Digital Future and Innovation- A Societal Transformation”, “Tracking Time-Evolving Data Streams and an Application to Short-Term Urban Traffic Flow Forecasting” and others. He highlighted that during the Conference, four Honorary Doctorate Degrees will be conferred upon distinguished academicians from Argentina, USA,Russia and Turkey.

Sharing his views, Hon’ble Shri P. Bhattacharya,Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs stressed that 70% of population in India does not know how to use computers; therefore, there is a need to spread the knowledge about IT and the necessity of communication systems, starting from remotest parts and villages of the country. He remarked that IT has changed the urban planning models and it is being used to make environment, governance and economy more efficient. He opined that optimization of IT is needed to serve growing cities, which are flooded with soaring population. He appealed young students to think together as to how “Smart Cities” concept can be best implemented, taking into consideration the limitations faced by the cities. He remarked that smart cities alone cannot solve the problem; they have to co-exist with smart villages to ensure inclusive development in the country

Mr. Rahul Tandon- Sr.Vice-President-Telecom Business, Syscom Corporation Ltd. remarked that the entire world is connected and opportunities are available to all. He opined that there is a need for greater efficiency in Infocom Technologies which is critical for restoring economic competence. He remarked that future will be created through infrastructure built on digital structures. He averred that ICRITO 2016 is an apt platform to learn the new technologies and to discuss topical issues related to the industry

Sharing his views, Dr. K Subramanian-Honorary Adviser (IT) and Ex. IT Advisor to CAG of India and Founder Director & Professor, ACIIL, IGNOU said that technologies are growing very fast ; .there is lot of research and development going on in the field of Infocom Technologies and their optimization. He remarked that there are lot of challenges in the field of IT such as R&D disconnect, manufacturing disconnect etc. He highlighted that five crucial sectors of economy- Service,Education, Manufacturing, Agriculture and Tourism are highly dependent upon Information Technology and therefore, it is very important to automate Infocom Technologies in the country.

During the inauguration, Prof. Mario JoseDivan- Director, Divsar, Consultor de Procesos y Sistemas de Soporte deDecisión Manzana, Toay - La Pampa – Argentina was awarded Honorary Professorship at Amity.

The three day International Conference will witness numerous sessions including “Digital Future and Innovation- A Societal Transformation”, “Statistical Process Control for OSS Projects and Optimal  Release Policies”, “Bio-Metric Data: A Security Concern”, “Tracking Time-Evolving Data Streams and an Application to  Short-Term Urban Traffic Flow Forecasting”, “Cloud Computing”, “Reliability Engineering and Optimization” and others.
