“District Interact Leadership Assembly (DILA) 2016” of Rotary International District 3012 at Amity
Over 1000 Interactors of Rotary from schools across Delhi/NCR avow to work for the betterment of society
District Interact Leadership Assembly (DILA) 2016 on the theme “Touch the Future” of Rotary International District 3012was inaugurated by Dr. Atul Chauhan-Chancellor, Amity University at University Campus, Sector-125,Noida.
The event was graced by various distinguished members of Rotary including District Governor Rtn. Sharat Jain, DILA District Trainer PDG Rtn. Ramesh Aggarwal, PP Rtn. Vikas Kumar, PP Rtn. Ajay Kumar Singh, Rtn. Sachin Vats and others and was attended by over 1000 Interactors between the age group of 14-18 years from schools across Delhi/NCR
Addressing he gathering, DILA Chair PP Rtn.and Trustee, RBEF –Mr. Ajay Chauhan welcomed students attending the Assembly from various Schools of Delhi/NCR and stressed that India has largest youth population in the world surpassing even China and that youth population can be turned into rich demographic dividend, if the youth is motivated to serve the humanity, taking up various important leadership roles. He remarked that DILA is one such important platform which provides an opportunity to the youth of the country to take up the responsibility of serving the society and nation by nurturing in them India’s rich culture, sankaars, values and ethics.
The Chief Guest- Dr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University highlighted the importance of youth power and applauded the boundless energy of the students attending the Assembly. He expressed that he has interacted with Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors across the world and the similarity amongst them is that they all are goodhuman beings. He asserted that people associated and working with Rotary possess a host of virtues-they are leaders in respective professions, they are helpful, energetic, concerned and always remain healthy owing to the satisfaction they get in reaching out to others and helping them in the time of need. He outlined the importance of networking with friends and people, on can call out to when needed and stressed that Rotary gives an opportunity to interact with like minded people from various backgrounds. He called upon students to respect their parents and always seek their blessings since the parents sacrifice a lot to provide the best possible opportunities to their children.
Addressing the future generation of Rotary Leaders, District Governor Rtn. Sharat Jain said that the most important takeaway of INTERACT movement is the leadership traits it nurtures in all the students by giving them pivotal roles to adopt leadership qualities on their own. He stressed that in rotary, Service is paramount and students are taught the value of giving back to the society. He highlighted the role of Rotary in making India Polio free and the commitment of Rotary in ensuring that 2016-17will be the last year of Polio in the entire world. He outlined various programmes adopted by Rotary as part of its social outreach initiatives such as“WASH in Schools” as part of Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan, Adult Literacy programmes,Service Projects- Singer Project, Give it Up- LPG subsidy, Open Heart surgeries for the needy and others. He called upon the youth to understand various initiatives of Rotary and try implementing them in their vicinity and ensuring the benefits for maximum population.
DILA District Trainer PDG Rtn. Ramesh Aggarwal ignited the young minds with the purpose of DILA and also introduced the Training team. He shared that in Rotary, future generations of Rotary Leaders bring along great potential, new ideas and dreams, innovative ways to solve complex problems and an extensive exposure to technology. He averred that Rotary helps them to realize their aspirations and dreams through providing a platform for experimentation and consistent efforts. Dwelling on the importance of DILA, he revealed that DILA presents an overview of the INTERACT, one of the nine structured programs of Rotary and prepare the INTERACT Club Office Bearers for their office. He remarked that India is leading the Rotary world with 1,50,000 Rotarians associated with 6,000 Interact Clubs across India.
During the occasion, IPDIR Interactor Tejinder Singh Jagdev passed on the baton of leadership by colaring the District Interact Representative Interactor Eshita Bhat who gave very inspiring acceptance speech, sharing the plans and goals of Rotary Serving Humanity for the year 2016-17
Interactors of various schools including Gurukul the School, DAV Pushpanjali Vihar, Vishwa Bharti Public School and others presented colorful cultural programme, which was treat to the eyes of the spectators.
