Amity celebrates Independence day with the performance of Army’s Grand Symphony Band
It’sbeen an historic day at Amity University Noida as the 22 InfantryDivision of Indian Army’s GRAND SYMPHONY BAND exclusively performed atUniversity Campus on the occasion of 70th Independence DayCelebration.
In the grandeur, more than 100 BandPersonnel participated for Grand Display which is the largest contingent everperformed at any University.
Theperformance by the Chief of Army Staff’s Symphony Band and Striking Seven TagraAssam Pipers enthralled the audience and patriotic fervor reached crescendothrough the musical notes of band.
The grand eventwitnessed the presence of eminent personalities including General OfficerCommanding 2 Corps, Lt. Gen MM Naravane, SM, VSM along with Senior ArmyOfficials; Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group; Dr. (Mrs.)Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools; Dr. Aseem Chauhan,Vice Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan; Mr. Anand Chauhan, Trustee, RBEF;Mr. Ajit Chauhan, Vice-Chairman, Amity Distance & OnlineEducation; Mr. Abhay Chauhan, Mr. Amol Chauhan; Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, ViceChairperson, Amity Humanitarian Foundation and other Senior Officials of Amity.
Addressing thegathering, Lt. Gen MM Naravane said that each one of us belongs todifferent states but as we wear the uniform and become part of Indian Army, weall stand united. He stressed that the primary mission of Indian Armed Forcesis to ensure safety, security and welfare of our country. He apprised that theJawans performing in the band are drawn from different units, regiments andcantonments. He stressed that Infantry Arm of Indian Army is not only known forits courage, valor and sacrifice but also providing peace and solace to thesoldiers in war through their music. Lt Gen Naravanne mentioned that the bandnormally performs during National Level functions including the President Houseand Beating the Retreat Ceremony and this is the first time ever that the bandhas performed at a University.
Sharing his views on the occasion, Dr. Ashok KChauhan said that India has one of the finest armies in the world and oursoldiers have proved their mettle in all theatres of wars. He emphasizedthat every Amitian has immense respect and affection for Indian Army. Webelieve that Army has enhanced the reputation of country and every individualis proud towards the great contribution of our soldiers. He thanked Indian Armyfor providing golden opportunity to the students of Amity to see an interestingfacet of Indian Army.
Duringthe occasion, the band performed on numerous musical compositions commencingfrom VandeMatram followed by Nischay Apni Jeet Karun, Amazing Grace by JohnNewton, Kandhon se milte ha kandhe, Taqat watan ki humse hai composed by S DBurman, Kadam Kadam Badaye Ja and signiong off with ‘Jai Ho'.
The awestruck performance was not mesmerizing but also instilled the sense of Independence day fervor amongst Amitianswho proudly sang and clapped along the patriotic songs. The band wonwide acclaim for their musical virtuoso, well synchronized moves, swiftness andagility.
