Singing Sensation Armaan Malik performs during Star Night of Amity Youth Fest 2016
The three day knowledge cum entertainment extravaganza -Amity Youth Fest 2016 concluded today with star studded performance by singing sensation and melodious composer Armaan Malik at Amity Grounds, University campus, Sector 125, Noida.
Amity Youth Fest was a concoction of the best of technologies, innovation, creativity, culture and fun. The mega event was a Roller Coaster ride from resonant argumentative debates to melodious performances, from hard core rock shows to vigorous drama performances, from moves of a dancer to buzzer of a quizzer, from innovative quad copters to intelligently planned business strategies, from the photography exhibition to gala Star Night.
The performance by the artist was spectacular and central attraction of the day. Singer Armaan Malik presented a fascinating performance which enthralled the audience and left the masking for more. He belted out his famous tracks like Main hu Hero tera, Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoo, Yujhe Apna Bannane ki Kasam sweeped off the crowd to the feet.
During the last day of the fest, 32 students from various colleges across Delhi NCR including Apeejay University, Maharaja Agresan College, IP University, Vivekananda College, Sri Venkasteshwara amongst others zealously participated in Nrityash – Solo Dance Competition.
During the fest, Amity Law School– II conducted an Amity Mock Parliament wherein more than 260 students from 60 Universities/ Institutions/ colleges across India participated. The participants deliberated on current issues, putting forth their stances, defending their points and making assertions. The sessions abound with thought-provoking and in-depth debates,stimulating the minds of the students.
The Valedictory Ceremony of Amity Mock Parliament witnessed the presence of eminent political personalities including Mr. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governer of Punjab & Haryana; Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and MoS for Minority Affairs; Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Former Chief Minister of Delhi &Former Governor of Kerala; Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group;Dr. (Mrs.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Dr. (Prof.) Gurinder Singh, Additional Group Vice Chancellor, Amity.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kaptan Singh Solanki emphasized that it is important to make politics a service profession rather than a making business out of it. Stressing the importance of conducting mock Parliament sessions, Mr. Solanki said that many people consider such mock sessions as mockery but they fail to realize that these sessions are the training system for a better working of parliament. Mr. Solanki averred that youth is the answer of all problems prevailing in India,hence, they need to take charge of the leadership with good education and training if they want radical change in the country.
Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that India has a distinctive democratic system as the nation runs elections throughout the year in different forms and different States and witnesses strings of controversial incidences throughout the year. But this has not affected the trust of people in Parliamentary system. He stressed that the voting percentage has been increasing every election and there have been 70% of new entrants in politics every year which clearly brings out the augmenting faith of people in democracy and politics. Mr. Abbas appealed to budding leaders that the youth should come forward to take part in politics as it is vital for the reformation of politics and society at large.
The highlight of the first day was the vivacious, pulsating and energetic Fashion Show- Kreativ 2016. The theme ofthe show was Timeless Classics.
The event witnessed the presence ofeminent industry experts including Mr Arvind Verma, Managing, Director,Artezen Décor; Mr Vikrant Makkar, Fashion Designer; Mr Neeraj, Fashion Designer; Mr Satyam, Fashion Designer; Ms Sonal Jain, Fashion Designer and MrPriyam Narayan, Fashion Designer.
The budding designers from Amity School of Fashion and Technology drew inspiration from Classic styles and integrated the same in Contemporary look which was truly classic & elegant. The designers used Tie &Dye, elegant Silk Brocades, Floral prints, soft pastels sprinkled with elegance and suave.
For the first time in Amity Youth Fest, seven Expositions including Social Responsibility NGO Expo;Start up& Stand up India Expo wherein 27 current students and alumni showcased their start-up ideas adventures; Education & Technology Expo; Corporate Expo; Real Estate Expo;Fashion Expo and Auto Expo were also organized.
The Social Responsibility Expo was inaugurated by Ms. Pooja Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation. Various NGOs across the nation participated in the Social Responsibility Expo including Amitasha, Atulasha, Go Get Garbage, Vikassheel,MyHomeIndia, Dhyan Foundation and Action for Humanity amongst others who showcased their work for betterment of society and to spread awareness of a range of social issues such as Women Empowerment, Upliftment of Urban, Clean Society, Water saving etc.
During the three day frolic event, various Technical and colorful Cultural events were organized including Fashion Show, Aphesia- battle of Bands, Antaragani – Street Play Competition, The Best Manager Competition, Quiz Competition, Amity Mock Parliament and Artifact design Competition, Airshow, Procreate, Rang Raise,International Performances by Korean and Tibetan Artistes, Pixels – Photography exhibition, MasterChef, Rhetorical Square – Debate Competition, Robo Times andBroadway – Stage Play amongst others.
