Amity Youth Festival commences with vibrant International Performances at Amity University
The three day knowledge cum entertainment extravaganza “Amity Youth Festival 2016” started with unbridled joy, frolic and exuberance at Amity Campus,Sector 125, Noida.
Every year, Amity Youth Festival is organized with an objective to create an unparallel forum for the students comprising of all elements of experiential learning to test their intellectual and artistic prowess, simultaneously opening avenues for showcasing their skills and talents.
The fest was inaugurated by Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh; Lt Gen P D Bhargava, Group Deputy Vice Chancellor,Amity; Dr. W Selvamurthy, President’ Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation and Dr. (Prof.) Sanjeev Bansal, Chairperson, Amity Youth Fest 2016.
Declaring the Youth Fest open, Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla said that Amity Youth Fest helps students in developing professional skills such as leadership, teamwork, business acumen, resource generation and management. She emphasized that this year’s youth fest involves new categories of ideas and participants from within and outside the University.
During the inauguration ceremony, International Artists from Korea and Tibet presented suave, elegant and colorful song and traditional dance performances. The ceremony also witnessed the astounding performances by the students of Amitasha and Atulasha (CSR projects of Amity wherein underprivileged girls and boys receive free education.)
Forthe first time in Amity Youth Fest, seven Expositions including Social Responsibility NGO Expo; Startup & Stand up India Expo wherein 27 current students and alumni showcased their start-up ideas and ventures;Education & Technology Expo; Corporate Expo; Real Estate Expo; Fashion Expo and Auto Expo were also organize.
The Social Responsibility Expo was inaugurated by Ms. Pooja Chauhan, ViceChairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation. Various NGOs across the nation have participated in the Social Responsibility Expo including Amitasha, Atulasha, GoGet Garbage, Vikassheel, MyHomeIndia, Dhyan Foundation and Action for Humanityamongst others who have showcases their work for betterment of society and to spread awareness of a range of social issues such as Women Empowerment,Upliftment of Urban, Clean Society, Water saving etc.
AYF’16 is a stunning amalgamation of myriad cultures, heritage and values. During the first day of fest, various Technical and colorful Cultural events were organized to celebrate the festive mood, the vivid colours, innovativeness and the cultural diversity of India including Fashion Show, Aphesia- battle of Bands,Antaragani – Street Play Competition, The Best Manager Competition, Quiz Competition, Amity Mock Parliament and Artifact design Competition amongst others.
The twilight of the day commenced with the vivacious, pulsating and energetic Fashion Show- Kreativ 2016. The theme of the show was Timeless Classics.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fashion Technology said that India is a nation with diversity in culture, heritage and festivals and so are the silhouettes, colors, textures and styles. Indian fashion has created its own unique identity of FUSION – the beautiful blend and combination of various dressing styles in the country. She emphasized that over the time, people have witnessed the classical fashion coming back, being re-invented every now and then, right from the traditional salwar kameez or sarees to churidars, kurtis. Ms. Chauhan lauded the participants for their creative presentation of contemporary style of apparel and accessories.
The evening witnessed the presence of eminent industry experts including Mr Arvind Verma, Managing, Director, Artezen Décor; Mr Vikrant Makkar, Fashion Designer; Mr Neeraj, Fashion Designer; Mr Satyam, Fashion Designer; Ms Sonal Jain, Fashion Designer and Mr Priyam Narayan, Fashion Designer.
The budding designers from Amity School of Fashion and Technology drew inspiration from Classic styles and integrated the same in Contemporary look which was truly classic & elegant. The designers used Tie &Dye, elegant Silk Brocades, Floral prints, soft pastels sprinkled with elegance and suave.
The process right from inspiration, conceptualization of ideas, Design development,Construction of Fashion Garments & presentation has been done by students themselves in Amity School of Fashion Technology.
