Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture (AIOA) organized Industry Academia Meet on “Leveraging Make in India for Agriculture and Food Business Sector”

Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture (AIOA) organized Industry Academia Meet on “Leveraging Make in India for Agriculture and Food Business Sector” at Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida in order to make students understand the importance and implications of “Make in India initiative”with special reference to  Agriculture and Food Sector.

Welcoming the distinguished gathering, Dr. Naleeni Ramawat gave a brief introduction about the Institute and highlighted the novel mix of Agri, Food and Management Programmes at Undergraduate level. Dr. Ramawat informed the august gathering about the achievements of the students and faculty members of AIOA during last 10 years.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sunil Saran said that unemployment is increasing in India and the vision and mission of the Founder President of Amity- Dr. Ashok K Chauhan is to nurture a brigade of employable professionals who are sought after worldwide. Dr.Saran highlighted the importance of values, skills and attitude in a student’s life and invited the feedback from the Industry guests for the enrichment of the curriculum and grooming of the students as per the requirements of the industry.

During the Panel Discussion, Mr. Tanmay Seth from Aquagri Processing Pvt. Ltd. emphasised on the creation of platinum quality standards for “Make in India” products and stressed on manufacturing more and more India based products.

Mr. Sagar Kurade from SumanProject Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. highlighted the importance of skill development and industry exposure for students and suggested to increase the production of value added products for market development in India.

Mr. Pravesh Gaur from Excel CropCare Ltd. shared his views on soil health issues and benefits of composting. He highlighted the need of educating farmers for contributing to “Make in India” initiative in a better way.

Mr. Dinesh Bhatia from All Fresh Supply Management Pvt. Ltd. talked about the immense potential in processing of fruits and vegetables sector and highlighted the need for devising necessary market standards for better pricing of fruits and vegetables.

During the second panel discussion, Mr. K. S. Bains, IAS shared his views on scope and importance of agriculture and processing Industries.

Dr. L. K. Pandey from Ananya SeedsPvt. Ltd. shared his experience and highlighted the potential in seed industry. He appraised the gathering with the achievements of Ananya Seeds Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. M. C. Pandey Agri-entrepreneur briefed students about the in qualities that industry look for in the students and shared his views on the  importance of soil health, biological control,working with farmers and post harvest protection.

Mr. J. B. Singh from Paras Dairy shared his past working experience in Reliance and ITC, talked about Paras dairy supply chain and highlighted the popularity of “Make in India” Campaign on social media platform.

Mr. Kamal Kumar from Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. shared the possibility of implementing Make in India Campaign in India successfully. He also highlighted the role of extension education and potential of vegetable hybrid seed production.

Mr. Prakash Sharma from Chambal Fertilizers and Chemical Ltd. talked about the present status of fertilizer industries in India and highlighted the agrochemical based research in India and challenges in the same.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar Tripathi from GMR Crops emphasized on augmenting the technical knowledge of the students.

Students had a very enriching conversation with the prolific and experienced speakers.
