Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, ASET celebrates Engineers' Day
On the occasion of Engineers' Day marking the birth day of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, ASET & ISTE Chapter organized an event to acknowledge the hardwork of the Engineers at Amity University Campus, Sector-125, Noida
During the occasion, eminent Engineers were acknowledged for their exemplary contribution in the domain of Mechanical Engineering and were also felicitated.
Prof. Vivek Kumar, Head of the Department, Mechanical and Automation Engineering welcomed the distinguished guests and introduced them to the gathering. Heexplained about the significance of Engineers’ Day and paid rich tributes toSir M Visvesvaraya and further added that engineers should emulate his qualities and be dedicated in their contribution to nation.
Prof. Abhay Bansal- Jt. Acting Head, Amity School of Engineering and Technology stated that the world expects from Indian engineers to translate their skill and knowledge into processes and technologies to suit the global challenges anywhere in the world.
The Industry Guests delivered expert talks to inspire the students
Mr. Alok Kapoor, Head – Design& Technology Solutions, UEM-Toshiba delivered an inspiring talk on “Challenges for young engineers and expectations from young engineers in the present global scenario”. In his keynote address, he said that there isa lot of hidden innovative talent in the younger generation and requested the academicians to identify this talent, encourage, motivate and make them industry ready.
Mr. Pramod Singh, General Manager –Tata Power Ltd spoke on the topic “Make in India:Challenges and Expectations”. He emphasized the need for engineers to be more practicing and regularly updating their knowledge and skills while in the profession.
Mr. Anil Khanna, GeneralManager-Business Development, Siemens Ltd delivered a talk on the topic “Role and expectations of young engineers towards Nation Building “ and enlightened the students with his vast knowledge and experience.He cited various real life instances and inspired students how to achieve long term goals in their life and career.
The event concluded with an Interactive Question and Answer session in which the students raised various questions related to Industry challenges and expectations.
Ms. Megha Sharma, MAE Department proposed a vote of thanks.
The students from 2nd and 3rd year B.Tech (MAE) participated during the Engineers’Day Celebrations.
