Delegation from University of Cincinnati, USA visits Amity to mull over potential areas of mutual collaboration

ADelegation comprising of seven senior academicians from University ofCincinnati, USA visited Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida to discuss anddeliberate upon the potential areas of mutual collaboration.

TheDelegation from University of Cincinnati, USA comprised of  Dr. Raj Mehta, Vice Provost International Affairs andDirector University Honors Program, Professor of Marketing; Prof. JasonT Blackard, Director, Office of Global Health, Associate Professor, Departmentof Internal Medicine; Prof. Jagjit Yadav,Dept. of Environmental Health from the  College of Medicine; Prof. Arnold I. Miller, Assoc. Dean, Professor ofGeology; Prof. Michael Neugent, AssistantProfessor-Educator of Finance and as the Academic Director of the MS Financeprogram; Prof. Nicolas Williams-Head, Department of Economics and Prof. LauraDudley Jenkins, Associate Professor of Political Science, Director of theInternational Human Rights Certificate Program

Welcomingthe distinguished delegation, Prof.(Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Addl.Vice Chancellor said that Amity University  and University ofCincinnati share similar passion and research impetus and emphasized that thecore strengths of both the Institutions can be synergized for mutual benefit.Dr. Singh briefed the members of the Delegation with National and InternationalCampuses of Amity and averred that by 2020, Amity will have its Campuses andUniversities across the world through collaborations and stand aloneUniversities. Highlighting the potential areas of collaboration, Dr. Singh suggestedthat both the Institutions of great repute can come together in the areas ofJoint Research and Joint Patent Filing, Student Exchange and Internships inrespective countries and Training, Knowledge Development and Consultation.

Talkingabout University of Cincinnati, USA, Dr. RajMehta, Vice Provost International Affairs and Director University HonorsProgram, Professor of Marketing appreciated the commitment of Amitytowards its students in making them globally competent professionals. Heappraised the gathering that University of Cincinnati is about 200 years oldInstitution and with time, it has undergone a transformation with immenseemphasis on globalization of students. Prof. Mehta remarked that the Universityhas huge domestic market to serve but with world population growingexponentially, the students have to be prepared for next 20-25 years so thatthey can handle the future problems and issues adeptly. He briefed thatUniversity of Cincinnati has formed a mission to identify like minded Institutionsacross the world and forge deep, fruitful and meaningful ties with them. Heemphasized that Amity and University of Cincinnati share similar values andmission and expressed his eagerness to work together and be committed to themutually benefiting association in years to come.

TheDelegation was taken around the campus and shown magnificent campus includingimpressive infrastructure, state of the art laboratories, Central Library andAmity Innovation Incubator.
