Amity School of Hospitality organizes “Master Chinese Chef Competition”
Amity School of Hospitality in association with Axiom Travel Services – China Tourism has organized “Master Chinese Chef Competition” at Amity Campus, Sector 125 Noida.
During the competition, 12 teams across various institutes of India participated to compete for the title of “Master Chinese Chef Competition” including Amity School of Hospitality Noida, Galgotias University, Subharti University, Amity University Gurgaon, GD Geonka University and Ansal University amongst others.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Mr. Li Qianguo, Director – China National Tourist Office; Mr. Niu Zhen,China National Tourist Office; Ms. Li Xue, China National Tourist Office; Mr. Raman Kapoor, Vice President, Eximius; Mr. Sandeep Singh, Business Head, Axiom;Prof. (Dr.) M Sajnani- Director, Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism and Prof. Pranshu Chomplay, Amity School of Hospitality.
Enlightening the participants on China Tourism, Mr.Li Qianguo said that tourism in China has greatly expanded over the last few decades since the beginning of reform and opening. He apprised that 7.1 lakh Indian tourists have visited National of China in year 2014, which means an increase of 4.9% over 2013. He remarked that India and China both are the land of colors, biodiversity and multi cuisine. He further added that Chinese Food is one of the main attractions of tourism. He stressed that food is an essential part of Chinese culture. Mr. Qianguo mentioned that there are eight recognized culinary styles in China, namely, Jiangsu cuisine; Sichuan cuisine;Hunon cuisine; Fujian cuisine; Zhejiang cuisine; Shandog cuisine; Anhui cuisine and Guangdong cuisine. He praised Amity for its global education approach and appreciated Amity’s efforts towards promoting friendship between India and China.
Welcoming the guests, Prof. (Dr.) M Sajnani said that Master Chinese Chef Competition is a great opportunity for budding chefs to present their multi-cuisine culinary skills at global level. Sharing his views on India-China relations, Dr. Sajnani said that Tourism and Food connects both the countries. He stressed that India and China has different approach in tourism sector. He highlighted that China stands third in the world for foreign tourist arrivals.
Competition of food preparationwas held in the food production labs of Amity school of Hospitality and all theteams made their best effort to win the competition. The event was judged byChefs from hotel “Oberoi” Chef Mohan Soni and Chef Negi from “The Grand” in Delhi NCR region.
