“ Amity Energy Week” , organised by Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department in association with Civil Engineering and EEE Departments, concludes at Amity
Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department in association with Civil Engineering and EEE Departments organized “ Amity Energy Week” from 21st to 24th September 2015.
The Valediction Ceremony was graced by Mr. Satvinder Singh Maan, Certified Energy Auditor from BEE, Mr Ajay Singh, Chief Executive-Radiance Engineering Co and Dr. Vijay Kumar, Vice President-Moser Baer Photovoltaic Ltd.
Mr. Shymal Samant -Associate Professor, Mechanical and Automation Engineering welcomed the distinguished guests and introduced them to the gathering. He explained about the significance of Energy Week Celebrations at university level and updated them with various events that were organized during the Energy Week Celebrations
Chief Guest of the occasion Dr.Vijay Kumar, Vice President-Moser Baer Photovoltaic Ltd deliberated upon Solar Power Generation and current developments in the field. His lecture focused on solar PV based power generation.
Mr. Satvinder Sign Maan, Certified Energy Auditor from BEE delivered a talk on Sustainable habitats and Green Buildings. He enlightened the audience with different ratings of green buildings and criterion to obtain these ratings.
Mr Ajay Singh, Chief Executive-Radiance Engineering Co, shared his views on Energy Management and discussed job opportunities available in energy management sector.
The learned speakers gave away the prizes and certificates to winners of various events held during Amity Energy Week.
During week long celebrations of Amity Energy Week, a student Seminar was conducted on the topic “Alternative ways of generating power and issues associated with it” during which contestants highlighted the renewable ways of generating the power and stressed the importance of green buildings. Ten student participants were selected based on their content of the presentation.
Karan Kushwaha, Anmol Arora and Asa Singh with presentation on “Smart Cities” were declared “Winners” of the event. Aditya Gupta and Abhinav Sachdeva were declared “Runners up” for the event for their presentation on “Solar Energy Utilization
A Slogan Writing Competition was also held for students during Amity Energy week. Twenty nine students from different Institutes of Amity participated in the event.
The judges for the event were Mr. Amitabh Srivastava, Advanced Metering Technology Ltd, Dr. Ashish Mani,Associate Professor EEE Dept.and Mr. V.K. Tayal, Assistant Professor, EEE Dept.
Faraz Siddique, B.A LLB (H), ALS-II was declared the Winner and Rahul Singh ,B.A- LLB(Hons), ALS-II was declared First Runner up.
Poster Making Competition witnessed the participation of thirteen students from different Institutes and was adjudged by Dr. Basant Sikarwar, Associate Professor, MAE and Mr. Shymal Samant,Associate Professor MAE.
Faraz Siddique from B.A LLB (H), ALS-II won the Competition and Priiyam Gandhi from Amity Institute of Biotechnology was declared the First Runner up.
"Azmie" society of ASET performed Nukkad on 23rd September to educate the students and teachers about the need to conserve electricity and switch to greener ways in every-day lives. The Actors put up a mesmerizing play on the subject of major concern in today's time:The Dire Need of Energy Conservation. They were able to perfectly disseminate the essence of the theme and kept the audience hooked to the play.
Top bulletins like energy conservation, greener methods of using energy, alternates ources of energy and the prospect of leaving behind a green, clean and hygienic planet for next generations,were acted out beautifully.
