Delegation from Queen Mary University of London visits Amity University
In an endeavor to build a durable partnership , Prof. David Sadler, Vice Principal and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Regional Advisor, India & Sri Lanka from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) visited Amity University to discuss and further strengthen the potential collaboration opportunities between the two Universities at Amity Campus, Sector 125 Noida.
Welcoming the guests, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Additional Vice Chancellor, Amity,highlighted the exemplary achievements of Amity University, its students, faculty members, researchers and Scientists, its academic programmes, patents filed by researchers and scientists and accreditation of the University. Dr. Singh proposed collaboration for establishing QMUL-Amity Centre of Excellence in both the Universities. He further added that both the Universities can explore feasibility of forging active collaboration to strengthen industry-academia linkage.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. David Sadler briefed about the credentials of Queen Mary University of London. He said that QMUL is truly an International University as it is recently been ranked 11th in UK for quality of research and stands in Top 100 prestigious Universities ranked by QS. He further added that QMUL has collaborated with institutions in Indiafor wide range of research projects. Dr. Sadler expressed that both the universities can learn from each other in the area of Research to develop better results.
During the discussion various collaborative options were mooted including Joint Collaborative PhD Programme,Joint filing of patents, Joint Research in areas of Management, Bio Technology,Nano Technology, Engineering and Communications and Short Term Internship Programmes.
The discussion was attended by Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation; Dr. V K Jain, Distinguished Scientist, HOIs and Senior Officials of Amity University.
The delegation was taken for round of the campus and visited Amity University Online, Amity Innovation Incubator and Central Library.
