Amity University confers 3,286 Degrees/ Diplomas on graduands during the final day of “10th Convocation 2014”
AmityUniversity organized “10th Convocation 2014” for three consecutivedays from December 11 – 13 2014 at University Campus, Sector 125, Noida. Duringthe third day over 3,286 successfully qualified Graduands of several Institutesincluding Amity Global Business School, Amity International Business School,Amity School of Business, Amity Business School received their UG and PGDegrees and Diplomas.
Duringthe day, over 231 meritorious graduands received specialAwards, Trophies, Medals and Salver respectively wherein 27 graduands receivedBest All Round Student Awards, 59 graduands were awarded with Gold Medals, 54with Silver Medals and 36 students with Bronze Medals.
Mr.Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradeshdeclared the 10th Convocation open.
Dr.Balvinder Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradeshwelcomed the august gathering and presented a brief report of the University.
Blessingthe graduands, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Groupmotivated the students to dream big and have confidence in themselves whichwill help them to reach the pinnacle of success. He shared that Amity’senvironment is enthused with rich Indian values and traditions, ethics andethos and behavioral skills, which makes students not only thoroughprofessionals but also good human beings.
Duringthe occasion, Mr. Mangu Singh, Managing Director, Delhi Metro was conferred withHonorary Doctorate Degree in Science for his distinctive accomplishments,focused directions in pursuit of excellence, strategic vision for thedevelopment of Nation and Humanity in general.
Acceptingthe Honorary Doctorate, Mr. Mangu Singh said, “It is my privilege toreceive the Honorary Doctorate from Amity University which has been playing animportant role by developing potential and talent of thousands of students whocome from different parts of the world.” Sharing his views on the mission of DelhiMetro, he said that Delhi Metro has made travelling easier for the passengersby providing them comfort and safety as they enter the premises of the station.He further added that he feels contented with the realization that Metro hascontributed greatly towards environment by reducing the level of carbon dioxidewhich leads to global warming. He advised the graduands to follow certainfundamentals both in professional and personal lives; primarily to be punctualwhich not only means to be on time but to utilize the time efficiently. Hemotivated graduands to inculcate the sense of Integrity within themselves whichmeans good values and ethos. He urged the students to develop the sense ofcompetency and perform with excellence in every task assigned to them. Mr. Singh congratulated the graduands for their splendid achievements.
Duringthe convocation, Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Adviser to theGovernment of India was conferred Honorary Doctorate in Science for hisexcellence, determination and life long contribution to the field of Science.
Duringhis acceptance speech, Dr. R. Chidambaram expressed his gratitude forthe honor bestowed upon him. He commended Amity for its contribution as aninnovation driven Institute. Talking about the role of Private Universities,Dr. Chidambaram said that there is a growth in the demand for higher educationand research which makes brings forth the importance of the role of privateuniversities to provide high quality education. He mentioned that India is onthe path of being a developed country and urged the students to accelerate theprocess of making the country grow and develop. Dr. Chidambaram further addedthat everyone possesses talent and it is the responsibility of the individualand society as well to polish and nurture the talent.
Duringthe three day Convocation, over 11,000 successfully qualified Graduands ofvarious Programs received UG and PG Degrees, Diplomas, Trophies and Medalsrespectively. Over 645 meritorious graduands received special awards, Trophies,Medals and Salvers respectively. 54 graduands were awarded with “Best All RoundStudent award”, 185 graduands received “Gold Medals”, 180 received “SilverMedals”, 98 received “Bronze Medals”, “Corporate Awards” were given to 10 studentsand “127 received the Salvers”.
