Congregation of Industry Doyens during “Corporate Meet 2014” at Amity

Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) organized“Corporate Meet 2014” at Amity University Campus, Sector - 125, Noida which wasattended by VPs’ and Heads from companies such as Jindal Steel and Power, BharatElectronics Limited, Philips, Steria, ONGC, Huawei, Aircel, Airtel, Wipro, TCSIndia, BHEL, Samsung, L&T Construction, Ghaziabad, Luxor, Unitech

During the Corporate Meet, over 100 Corporate Leaders, Mentors andGuides from the Industry, who have been a support system to the Engineeringstudents and have contributed immensely in making them industry ready, sharedthe latest trends of the industry with students, faculty, management and fellowprofessionals.

Welcoming the august gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Prakash- Director, ASET and Patron,Corporate Meet 2014 outlined the importance of industryinteraction for the young budding Engineers and how Corporate Meet, organizedever year, provides a golden opportunity to the students for invaluableinteraction with industry leaders and trendsetters.

Sharing his views,Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group attributedthe unparallel growth and success of Amity students to regular industryinteraction, guidance and support. He thanked corporate leaders who, he said,are beacon to Amity students. He shared his conviction that Amity students,having being groomed by industry leaders, would change the country and theworld with their academic, professional and humane radiance.

Addressing the students and motivating them, Mr. Vikram Sharma- MD and CEO,Kobelco said that today’s youth have opportunities galore inIndia and abroad; all they have to do is be determined, focused, persistent andthink out of the box to succeed. He eulogized the impetus Amity gives toindustry interaction and mentorship which helps students to become industryready even before they step outside the portals of college.

Mr. Ashish Adhikari- Sr. Consultant, Microsoft advised students to befocused and dedicated  in whatever they are doing; whether its studies ora job, leaving aside all the distractions borne out of the advent of technologyincluding I-phones, I-pads etc. He stressed that although multi-tasking hasbecome a norm in every corporate but to some extent, it effects the efficiencylevel of the task in hand.

Sharing his views, Mr.Puneet Singh- MD, Rewelcom Group opined that students, in orderto succeed in Corporate World, should be very inquisitive and eager to learnbeyond their curriculum. He suggested that in order to bridge the ever-widening chasm between the Corporate and Academia, the interests andinclination of the students should be gauged from second year onwards andaccordingly, they should be picked up by a Corporate and groomed as per thatparticular Corporate’s requirement by the academic Institute. This, hestressed, would be a win-win situation for Corporate, Academia and evenstudents, saving everybody’s time and resources.

Mr. Arun Kumar- Group Manager, Alstom encouraged the studentsto focus on their curriculum during the four years of Degree programme so thatwhen they are picked up by a Company, students could start contributing to theCompany as an asset right from the first day, without going through trainingson basics.

Duringthe occasion “Summary Book of Summer Internship Projects” of students was alsoreleased.
