Max New York Life Insurance takes over JK Risk Managers in the smashing finals of 10th Amity Insurance Cup

The Finals of 10th Amity Insurance Cup played between JK Risk Managers and Max New York Life at Amity University Grounds, Sector-125, Noida turned out to be quite exiting and thrilling for the spectators who remained glued to their seats till the last ball when Max New York Life Insurance scored a convincing and indeed very close 4 wicket victory over the JK Risk Managers.

The Amity Insurance Cricket Cup, organized by Amity School of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science(ASIBAS), is an annual event played to raise funds for the underprivileged girls under the project ‘Amitasha’ of Amity Humanity Foundation. Amitasha was established by Amity Humanity Foundation under the vision of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan – Chairperson, Amity International Schools in 1999 for ameliorating the situation of underprivileged girl children.

After winning the toss, JK Risk Managers decided to bat first. JK Risk Managers scored a total of 155 runs at a loss of 5 wickets in allotted 20 overs.

In return, Max New York Life Insurance, chasing a modest target, was able to score 159 runs at a loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs.

Mr. Ranveer from JK Risk Managers was announced the “Man of the Match”. Mr. Vikas Gujral from Max New York Life was announced “Best Batsman” and Mr. Ajeet Ranjan from JK Risk Managers was adjudged as “Best Bowler”.

The match was followed by an Award ceremony which was graced by Former Cricketer, Mr. Chetan Chauhan, Mr. Anuraag Kaul, CEO of JK Risk Managers and Maj. Gen K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.

Welcoming the august gathering, Prof. R.R. Grover, Director, Amity School of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science (ASIBAS) thanked all the 16 companies which participated in the tournament and thereby, contributed to such a noble cause. Prof. Grover announced that thorough Amity Insurance Cup 2012, ASIBAS has managed to gather Rs. 4 lakhs as registration fees, which will go towards the project “ AMITASHA” and will benefit the underprivileged girl children.

Giving away the awards to the players, Mr. Chetan Chauhan lauded the noble efforts of Amity School of Insurance, Banking & Actuarial Sciences which has been successfully organizing Amity Insurance Cup for past ten years in a row. He praised the exceptional talent displayed by players during Amity Insurance Cup and expressed his hope that someday one of the participating players could be selected for playing strategic National level matches.

Mr. Anuraag Kaul, CEO of JK Risk Managers congratulated both the final teams for putting up such a remarkable show of talent, sportsmanship and comraderie.

The tenth Amity Insurance Cricket Cup, spread over 2 months and played in Amity campus on Saturdays and Sundays, commenced on November 12, 2011 with the participation of 16 Insurance Companies such as Apollo Munich Health Insurance, Bajaj Allianz General, Bank of India Canara HSBC OBC Life, Future Generali, IIFCO – Tokio General, HDFC Ergo General, ICICI Lombard General, ICICI Prudential Life, JK Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers, Max New York Life, Metlife India, Milliman India, National Insurance Co, Reliance General and Oriental Insurance.
