Delegation from University of Nottingham, England Visit Amity University
Pro Vice Chancellor of University of Nottingham, England Prof. Christine Ennew visited the Amity University, Noida campus on march 09, 2012 to discuss the various possibilities of Cooperation between Amity University and Nottingham University.
Prof. Christine Ennew was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Gen. Jai. K. Singh, Pro vice Chancellor and several HOI’s. She was introduced to various areas of academics where Amity and University of Nottingham can join hands and form collaborations. Emphasis had been given on Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Engineering, Microbial Technology, Aerospace Information Technology, Student/Faculty exchange programs, and training programs.
Prof. Christine Ennew, Pro Vice Chancellor of University of Nottingham expressed keen interest towards Amity University and the wide area of academic intervention it offers. She showed his admiration towards the immense progress of the university particularly in the filed of Science & Technology and her intent to go forward with a successful and fruitful collaboration between University of Nottingham and Amity University.
Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University during his interaction with the delegates laid emphasis on the various technical courses that Amity University offers to its students and how students from other universities would benefit through student exchange programs.
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University while addressing the gathering, mentioned various activities where Amity University would like to collaborate with University of Nottingham including joint doctoral programs or joint projects with University of Nottingham.
During the occasion a General Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Prof. Christine Ennew on behalf of University of Nottingham and Dr. Balvinder Shukla on behalf of Amity University to begin in the direction of student exchange, faculty exchange, joint research.
An introduction was given about horticulture, Marine science, Tourism, microbiology and the Amity Innovation Incubator programs in order to highlight the progress of these departments and their activities as well as mainlining the particular aspects where collaboration could be brought forward. Amity offers to extend help in the areas of Teacher Training, Corporate Education, Engineering as well as Banking & Finance.
