Amity International School Pushp Vihar organises Junior Annual Day “Shatak ko Salaam – 100 years of Delhi"
Amity International School Pushp Vihar organized their Junior Annual Day “Shatak ko Salaam – 100 years of Delhi” with a great fan fare and colourful display of Tbleau “Delhi Meri Jaan” and Dance performances by students of Class I-IV.
The evening unraveled with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister, Delhi, Dr. Kiran Walia, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Women & Child Development, Prof. Christine Ennew, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Nottingham, England, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International School with the lighting of the lamp amidst the chanting of shlokas. Ms. Amita Mohan, Principal, Amity International School, Pushp Vihar welcomed the august gathering.
While addressing the students, Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister, Delhi said “I am very happy to be here amongst children and Charitra for Nirman through successful education system is a matter of inspiration. Efforts of all institutes of Amity are commendable. The theme of the Annual Day is very apt as it showcases the 100 years of Delhi. In 100 years Delhi had changed tremendously. Today Delhi has population of 1.70 crore and Delhi attracts people because of its modernity. Delhi has the highest per capita income in India and of which 92% is spent on education by families in Delhi. However there is a mismatch ratio between girls and boys in education and it should be removed. Ms. Dikshit emphasized that education for the Girl Child should be encouraged.
Dr. Ashok K, Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation said that it is a historic moment that Chief Minister of Delhi is here because of the love and affection for children. Under the dynamic leadership of our Chief Minister, Delhi will very soon be on the frontline of the world. Dr. Chauhan said that we are nurturing the under privileged girls under Amitasha project and it is because of inspiration and guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister that we are running the program of Amitasha in different schools of Amity.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit felicitated the topper of International Masters Mathematics Olympiad 2012, Ms. Soumya Chauhan who is Class I student of Amity International School, Pushp Vihar.
Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools dwelt on the marvels of childhood stating, “Children have pure thoughts, their unique talents are special gifts that are like points of light radiating positive energy and vitality.” She further opined that the world needed to turn to childhood innocence to heal the world and rekindle the golden threads that bind us together in humanity. Dr. (Mrs.) Chauhan described the efforts done by Amity International School in giving best theoretical education clubbed with practical exposures.
The event unfolded with the unique blend of soothing Indian and vibrant western music. It was followed by the “Saraswati Vandana”. The main attraction of the evening was the Tbleau “Delhi Meri Jaan” which was completely evolved by the children right from the formulation of the script to the framing of the dialogues.
Hundreds of students of junior school of Amity International School Pushp Vihar participated I the cultural evening much to the amazement and happiness of their parents and relatives.
