Amity International School Mayur Vihar organises Regional fair ‘Odyssey of The Mind
Amity International School Mayur Vihar hosted the Regional fair of ‘Odyssey of The Mind’ on 23rd and 24th of January 2012 for Delhi & NCR schools. The programme aimed at developing divergent and independent thinking abilities in the students through a challenging but fun learning process. Under the pioneering patronage of the Chairperson of Amity schools, Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan, all the branches of Amity participated in the International event with great enthusiasm. This was the second year of the ‘Odyssey of The Mind’in India. In its first year in 2011, five teams from India went for the World Fair at Maryland University USA and amongst them four teams were from Amity schools.
‘Odyssey of The Mind’ is a wonderful amalgamation of technology and art which develops real-life communication and brain storming skils. Five new competitive problems are presented for the teams to solve, namely, mechanical/vehicle, classics, building a structure and performance based. The Judges were experts in their respective fields They judged the participants’application of knowledge, critical thinking and innovative ideas used for designing the gadgets and presenting them.
