AITTM organizes Guest Lecture on ‘TDM to IP Transport Network Convergence’
AITTM organized a guest lecture by
Mr. Ombir Singh – National Optimization Lead , Nokia Siemens Networks on ‘TDM to IP Transport Network Convergence’ , for students of MBA Telecom Management and final year students of B.Tech (E&T). Mr. Singh has a rich experience of 22 years in the field of Network Designing and Planning of IP MPLS, SDH, DWDM Networks and providing end-to-end Transmission Solution to the operator.
Mr. Tarun Kaushik – Transmission Lead in the National Planning Team accompanied Mr. Ombir Singh. Tarun is experienced in the field of Network designing and planning of IP MPLS Networks.
They discussed regarding changing TDM frame into IP frame for fast flow through the packet switched core networks. They also explained about the TDMoip versus Voip and need for synchronization, need for SDH and PDH, migration from circuit switched networks to packet switched networks etc. They explained about pseudo wires and IMS internet multimedia system platform. There is a requirement of changing CPE in case Voip but no change is required in case of TDMOP, Mr Singh opined.
The lecture was highly interactive in nature and concluded with a Q&A session which was interesting for the students.
