Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group inaugurates XVII Annual Congress of The Society of Andrology, India

The Society of Andrology, India organised its annual two day " XVII Annual Congress" on Saturday December 10, 2011 at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Inaugurating the Congress, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation and Chairman, AKC Group of Companies, New Delhi emphasized that Indian brains are the best with no parallel in the world. The creativity,innovation and ideas of the Indians are world known. Indians are the leaders and biggest contributors in the field of Science and Technology. Dr. Chauhan , further, highlighted the important and breakthrough research work being carried out by Researchers and Scientists of Amity who have filed 274 patents till date and will file over 500 patents by October 24, 2013. Dr. Chauhan lamented the fact that Indian Scientists keep themselves busy in publishing their Research papers whereas in UK and USA, research works are commercialised and lot of money is generated out of the commercialisation of the research work.Dr. Chauhan stressed that he wants Indian Scientists and Industrialists to earn equal which is possible only if their research works are patented well in time.

Prof. (Dr.) Anand Kumar- Department of Reproductive Biology and Central Radioimmunoassay Facility, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi presided over the inauguration and Prof. Giuseppe Tritto- Clinical Andrology Surgeon, Paris and Professor, BIB, Brunel University, UK gave the Plenary Theme Lecture on " Nanotechnology in Biomedicine".

During the day, four sessions unfolded in which several important topics were discussed including " Primary Testicular Failure: Genotype Phenotype Correlation" by Dr. Ashutosh Halder- Additional Professor, Department of Reproductive Biology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, "Restoration of Leydig cell function, survival and associated gene expressions following repeated hCG stimulation" by Prof. M M Misro- Department of Reproductive Biomedicine, National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, "Gonadotrophin like effect of hypoxia on MA-10 cell functions" by Prof. Anand Kumar- Department of Reproductive Biology and Central Radioimmunoassay Facility, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, "Accumulation of DDT in human body and effect on male fertility" by Prof. Akhileswari Nath- Head, Research Centre, Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna and others.

The Congress was attended by Scientists, Clinicians, Technologists and Program Managers who gained in depth information about existing status of male health and deliberated at length the plans for the emerging needs of the future.

The Society of Andrology, India is a major scientific professional organisation addressing the issues pertaining male health.
