Amity International Business School organizes Industry Visit to ICD – Tughlakabad
A visit to
ICD Tughlakabad was organised by
Industry Interaction Cell, Amity International Business School(AIBS) where students of
MBA- IB visited the Dry Port. The objective of the visit was to gain knowledge of the custom clearance procedures and the internal supply chain functions performed in order to affect the transaction of goods being exported and imported. These export and import goods that are received are inspected by the custom inspector.
The visit proved to be very fruitful for the students as they study subjects related to export and import in their curriculum. During the visit the students throughly got well versed with the terms and terminologies used in the custom house and were also made aware about the EXIM policy along with how Excise duty, Basic duty, CVD and additional duties are levied on both exports and imports. The visit provided an opportunity to the students to practically see how the goods in the warehouse are arranged, stored and then loaded in the containers for delivery as well as how documentation and transit of goods are done. The visit also helped to ascertain the problems of the particular industry and the various measures that can be worked upon to make the functioning of the industry better.
The students were accompanied by
Prof. Ajit kumar Pandey- Associate Professor - AIBS and Mr. Swarnpreet Singh-Assistant Manager- IIC during the visit. Great cooperation was extended by
Mr. M. M. Singh - Joint Commissioner- Customs during the visit to the port and
Mr. O.P. Singh -Manager – Customs who addressed the students by sharing his valuable experience. He apprised the audience with the principle of “ASK” (A- Attitude S- Ski11 set & K – Knowledge) and concept of 7 L (Learn, Laugh, Look – for positive things, Lasting Impression, Love Leverage and Lead) to success.
