Students of Amity University Haryana display their scientific & technical temperament during National Level Technical Fest “IGNITION- 2011”
Amity School of Engineering & Technology & Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Haryana, organized the first technical fest, “IGNITION 2011”. The Fest was organized to provide a platform to the young & innovative minds to apply their ideas and technical skils from their respective fields of specialisation. It also focused on generating awareness about the latest discoveries with their underlying principles and emphasized on the contemporary challenges.
Prof. R.C. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Haryana and Dr. Padmakali, Dean Academics, Amity University Haryana inaugurated the Technical Fest “IGNITION- 2011.
Prof. R.C. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Haryana extended a welcome speech to the participants and motivated the young students to participate in the event and said that “IGNITION 2011” is the ultimate amalgamation of innovation and creative. It is an initiative to make young minds think beyond the horizon, it is a representation of leadership at its best. IGNITION is an epitome of excellence in action where talent is merged with academics.
While sharing her experiences with the gathering, Dr. Padmakali, Dean Academics, Amity University Haryana emphasized the importance of Technology in daily life. Dr. Padmakali said “the Technical Festival is a platform where students can socialize with corporate leaders and trendsetters, exchange ideas and network.
16 events were organised during the fest., viz., Model making, paper presentation, coding and debugging, E-waste busters, robotics-the master event and perhaps the biggest, making robots under skiled supervision, Mathematical facts, City drive , What an idea, dare to dream, where creativity is used to develop the most efficient industrial layouts i.e. locate the equipments and the facilities in a manufacturing plant, biomedical waste management- this event was about applying the 3 R’s to bio-medical waste i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle and that was essentially the motto of the event too! Health awareness, lastly the nutraceutical and alternative food event-this event was a blend of the right kind of food with health drugs that triggered good efficient living.
More than 150 participants from various technical institutes across North and NCR like Punjab College of Engineering and Technology, Punjab Institute of Applied Research, HBTI- Kanpur, Gurgaon College of Engineering, Amity University Rajasthan, JDMGRRI etc. took part in the fest.
In City Drive – Traffic System Design competition, team of Delhi College of Technology & Management, Palwal led by Abhijit won the first prize and team of Amity University Haryana led by Shekhar won second prize. In game Design competition first prize was won by Prandev and Preeti of Hindu College of Engineering, Sonipat while second prize was beg by Suyesh and Ashish of Amity University Haryana. In Robotica – Sarva Pathik competition, first and second prize was won by Delhi College of Technology & Management- Palwal, Amit won first prize and Satish won second prize. In Robotica - Lakshman Rekha competition, team from Gurgaon College of Engineering led by Amandeep won first prize. In Robotica – Chakryavyuh competition, team led by Satish from Delhi College of Technology & Management- Palwal won first prize and team led by Abhilash from Amity University Haryana won second prize. In Coding & Debugging competition, Nitin and Pankaj from JVM College Bhiwani won first prize while second prize was won by Abhilash and Aditya from Amity University Haryana.
First prize of Dare to Dream competition was won by S.K. Smithin, Bipin and Pradeep from Delhi College of Technology & Management- Palwal. Mathematical facts competition was won by Deeksha and Abhishek from Amity University Haryana. E-Waste Management competition was won by Satyam and Harshil from Amity University Haryana. Both First and Second prize of Technical Quiz and What an Idea competition was won by Amity University Haryana. Abhinandan and Ishani won first prize of Technical Quiz while second prize was won by Ajay and Ravi. What an Idea competition was won by Chitralekha while runner up was Nikhil.
The Fest concluded with an exciting enthralling program by the engineering students of Amity University Haryana and Prof. Dr S.M.P. Khurana, Director Amity Institute of Biotechnology extended the vote of thanks in the concluding session to all contestants, supporters and the organizers.
