KREATIV - Annual Fashion & Art Festival concludes at Amity
Annual fashion art festival ‘KREATIV’11 presented by Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) & Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA) concluded today. The two days festival ‘KREATIV’11 (March 16th -17th , 2011) was organized to provide an exclusive platform to the students for them to uphold their hard work and talent to the spectators and veterans of Art industry in myriad forms of Applied Art, Painting and Animation at Amity University Campus, Sector – 125, Noida.

Chairperson, ASFT and AFTA, Mrs. Divya Chauhan said “it is a great honor to have the company of such high level panelists on the occasion of the annual art festival - KREATIV’11 and that their presence heartens the students to the hilt and provides them with enhanced encouragement to deliver their best consistently.”
The adorned festival of KREATIV’ 11 during the idyllic evening of its final day conferred
Lifetime Achievement Awards upon Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh , renowned classical dancer, (Dance), Padmashree Ms. Anjolie Ela , eminent Artist (Art) and Mr. Suneet Varma , eminent fashion designer (Fashion). The much awaited award ceremony was followed by the graceful presentation of
‘NATYA- KATHA’ – Story telling with a difference by Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh wherein she planted her instant connection with the audience through narrative episodes interspersed into a the speechless performance.
Overwhelmed recipient of Amity Lifetime Achievement Award
Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh said “It is indeed a matter of immense joy and pride to receive a Lifetime Award from the mammoth university of Amity. Amity is not a just a university, it is an empire of education and enlightenment in the true sense which through the empowerment of education is giving opportunities to people world wide to make their lives more meaningful.” Congratulating the impeccable works of the students she urged them to respect and nurture the gifts of ‘Sruti’ (oral learning) and ‘Stuti’ (rememberance) that existed from the ancient times of the Vedas and said “It is perfect to upgrade ourselves as per the latest technical advancements, yet it is important to be alert that technology should not dominate the natural human capacities of retention and learning that each individual is blessed with.”

Chauhan is one of those blessed visionaries who have had the fortune to see the manifestation of his noble vision in his own lifetime.” Encouraging the hard work of the students she said “Art is an inspiration for itself and the joy of the real artists lie in remaining deluged in constant creation therefore an artist ideally should never restrict the mind from travelling in the destinations of creativity and further creativity.”

Mr. Suneet Varma shared his success story with the students during the Award ceremony and urged each one of them to respect their dreams whole heartedly and pursue the same with undivided dedication to reaffirm the saying of ‘where is a will there is a way’.
Honoring the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Awards
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group said “Amity is proud of the glorious achievements of the much revered recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Awards.” Encouraging the idea of cultural adherence in terms of music and dance in all its forms, he announced the launch of Amity School of Performing Arts (ASPA) to nurture the cultural bent in the students during the final day of KREATIV ’11.
A breathtaking Fashion show for the students, of the students and by the students was hosted during the evening of the concluding day of KREATIV’11 wherein the students walked out straight from the Carnaby street showcasing their design collections. The collection presented by the students based on the mystic themes were unveiled during the fashion show including ‘Moonstruck’- the moonlight inspired collection of one piece dresses in soft and fluid drapes depicting the delicate feelings through fabrics like satins and organza by Rishika Gulati , “Vanity Is Fair”, a collection depicting the arrogance and vanity of a beautiful woman, with the use of very powdered fabrics in the manner in which the likes of Audrey Hepburn would, by Sana Kapoor , ‘The lily of the valley’ a collection enhancing the serenity of white using the fabrics of cotton, Lycra and cancan by Deepti Gupta , ‘Carnival of rust’ – A collection inspired by army uniforms by Vani Aggarwal, ‘Nautical Miles’ – collection of cotton, satin and well merged stripes to describe the culture of sailors by Saket Subham, ‘Resurrection of Flora’ – a collection to display the resurrection of vivacity, exhibited by heat stretchable fabrics indicating dead floral life with shimmer fabrics which is a way towards life by Aubi Jain, ‘Regional Flavor’ – an ethnic collection in the range of gold and silver texture matched with Indian fabrics of Velvet, silk, brocade, chiffon and georgette by Jyotika Guglani and a sublime cluster of many more in the series.
The surreal fashion show presented by the students was followed by a Brand show offering a bonus treat to the beholders, wherein students modeled for the exclusive collections by the leading brands of DFU Inside Fashion, Satya Paul, Shipra Mall, Rockport and Bentley.
The concluding day of KREATIV ’11 was further embellished with the exotic exhibition and display work of the graduating students of FINE ARTS programmes (continued over the two days of the festival) and by bestowing the awards for Best Apparel Collection’ for the inter institutional fashion show competition wherein the stupendous performances of the creative students were evaluated on the basis of creativity of garments, accessories, props, concept and innovation of design, aesthetic appeal, choreography, time management and overall coordination. First prize for ‘Best Apparel Design’ went to Komudeep Bhashi from Amity School of Fashion Technology, Second Prize was bagged by JIMS, Rohini and Ms. Snigdha Kumar from Amity School of Fashion Technology won the third prize to the competition.
The final day of KREATIV’11 also hosted a stimulating
talk show themed on “Indian Art in Global Art Scenario” by renowned artists like Ms. Shibani Chawla, Director Chawla Art Gallery, Dr. Alka Raghuvanshi, Artist, Mr. Farhad Hussain, Artist, Mr. Anil Sharma, Art Director, Ms. Reshma Jaiswal, Rudra Eye Mr. Samit Das, Artist and various others shared their enlightening views with the audience.
The two day event filled with enlightment and excitement was also attended by
