Mr. Vincenzo Raimo, Director, International Office, University of Nottingham, U.K. visits Amity to explore collaboration opportunities
Mr. Vincenzo Raimo, Director International Office from University of Nottingham, UK visited Amity University, Sector – 125, Noida to explore collaboration opportunities between the two Universities for Student Exchange, Internship Programme, Joint Research etc and most importantly taking steps for UKIERI (The UK India Education and Research Initiative). During his visit Mr. Raimo expressed deep interest in initiating education exchange programmes with Amity and he elaborately discussed the significance and scope of UKIERI which aims at enhancing education links between India & U.K. “Amity research fellows at Nottingham are building good relations with the professors there and can be of great help for UKIERI. Also the Intellectual Capital of University of Nottingham may be utilized in India for projects in Nursery” he added.
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) on behalf of entire Amity University welcomed Mr. Raimo and said that partnership of Amity and University of Nottingham, U.K has very bright prospects mainly in the areas of Biotechnology and Nanotechnology.
The University of Nottingham had announced the Indian Distinguished Visiting Fellowship scheme in the month of March 2011 for 10 Indian early-career University lecturers and post doctoral researchers to undertake research at the University of Nottingham for a period of around three months from June to September 2011. The scheme included funding of £1,000 per month to cover living expenses, plus £500 to cover travel costs for each candidate.
The visit was followed by the felicitation of Mr. Raimo by Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics) AUUP and Heads of various Institutions of Amity along with a brief round of Amity University Campus, Sector – 125, Noida which included visits to the various institutions of Amity.
