11th Amity Insurance Cricket Cup in support of Amitasha begins at Amity University
Amity Institute of Insurance, Banking & Actuarial Science has organized its 11th Amity Insurance Cricket Cup in support of Amitasha. This Cricket tournament will go on from December 2012- January 2013 wherein teams from Insurance & banking Sector will participate to win and to contribute to the noble cause of educating underprivileged girls.
The main objective of Amitasha is to encourage and educate the unprivileged girl children, a dream of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan to endow school, home and security to the unprivileged girls for overall growth of the society. Under this project over 1500 girls from the underprivileged sector of society are provided with the education, uniform, meal and are groomed to become leading ladies of their house.
Amity School Of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science organizes Amity Insurance Cricket Cup Tournament annually to support the underprivileged girl children, the registration and sponsorship amount of this annual event helps in raising funds for this noble project “Amitasha”. This year the venture has raised the fund of Rs. Four Lacs twenty one thousand.
Welcoming the august gathering Prof. R R Grover, Director, Amity School of Insurance, Banking & Actuarial Sciences said that this is the eleventh year of Amity Insurance Cricket Cup and this program has always been a great support in raising funds for Amitasha. Insurance, Banking & IT companies have been giving the support to run this venture successfully since we started in 2002.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Chauhan, Founder President, Amity expressed his joy and feel of pride for such a successful event which gives an extra helping hand for raising funds for Amitasha. Everyone put his hard work to grow personally and professionally but those who also work hard for the weaker section of the society always see the boom period in their lives very soon said Dr. Chauhan.
Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools said that those who contribute to noble causes get more than that. Girls are the backbone of the society, every single educated girl helps in giving a better life to two families remarked Dr. (Mrs.) Chauhan.
Mr. V K Sohni, Captain of LIC Team shared his views and said that the team of LIC have been participating in this Cricket match for fours years now. We feel proud to be a part of this great venture as its for a noble cause i.e the foundation Amitasha, who educate girl children to give them a bright future.
Mr. Rahul Kaul, Member of ICICI Team said that the ICICI as an organisation is always committed to help NGOs and as a participating team of Amity Insurance Cricket cup we are proud to be the part of this venture.
The program was followed by the release of the souvenir 11th Anniversary of the cricket tournament in support of “Amitasha” and conferred the recognition to students who represented as the student coordinators of Human Values Quarter and participated actively in the program.
The Participating teams are from Canara Bank, HSBC Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Life insurance Company (LIC), Future General Insurance, Irgo, General Insurance, ICICI Bank, Prudential Life insurance, J K Risk Manager, Insurance Broker, Max Life Insurance & Company, Met Life Insurance, national Insurance Company, Tata AIG General Insurance, Oriental insurance, Amity School of Insurance, Banking & Actuarial Sciences, etc.
The first match was played between JK Risk Managers and Future Generali. JK Risk Managers won the toss and elected to field first. Future Genrali did batting first and were all out in just 99 runs in 19.2 overs whereas JK Risk Managers made 100 runs for one wicket in just 8 overs. Hence, JK Risk Managers won the match by 9 wickets.
