Mr. Rishi Oberoi, Manager Quality Engineering, Adobe Systems delivers lecture on "Testing on New Age Mobile Devices" at Amity University
Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amity School of Engineering & Technology organized a lecture on ‘Testing on New Age Mobile Devices’ for B.Tech and M.Tech students. The Guest Lecture was delivered by Mr. Rishi Oberoi, Manager Quality Engineering, Adobe Systems and enlighten more than 80 students.
The guest was welcomed by Prof (Dr.) Abhay Bansal, Head of Department, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.
Mr. Rishi Oberoi briefed the gathered strength about the Mobile Ecosystem along with the various challenges faced by a team ensuring the quality of the applications delivered on mobile devices. In a very interactive manner, he explained the current trend of the mobile industry and how the application industry has transformed from the desktops to the portable mobile devices. The students developed interest in the topic as the lecture moved on to real life examples related to the mobile devices.
Mr. Oberoi gave the students an insight of what major challenges come in their way while developing and testing an application that would be shipped across multiple platforms and varied devices. Some of the challenges that he briefed about were complexity issues, how to handle short release cycles when the product is not released, how to manage the updation processes, how various security threats are curbed, and how the simulator devices are helpful in testing in cases when the real device is not available. Along with these challenges, the network issues were also taken care of, the specifications of the mobile devices like battery, screen orientation, performance issues memory leaks and many more issues were discussed.
During the session, he also shared his experience working with Adobe as a Quality Engineer. The question and answer session showed the spirit of Amity students as many of the students cleared their doubts showing utmost interest in the topic.
