Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture organises Panel Discussion on “Industry Expectations from the Young Agriculture Business Managers & Sunrise Opportunities in Agriculture & Food Business”

Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture (AIOA) organized a panel discussion with Industry Professionals on “Industry Expectations from the Young Agriculture Business Managers & Sunrise Opportunities in Agriculture & Food Business” at Amity University Campus, Sector-125, Noida. The purpose of the discussion was to let students understand the industry norms and working culture of the booming industry of Agriculture & Organic Culture.

Welcoming the august gathering Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said that any University can grow or excel only when the industry leaders are jointly aligned with the University in one or the other way. Need of technology in the field of every industry is the call of today’s competitive market. Further, talking about the Agriculture & Oragnic farming technical terms she said they have become an important concern in the sector of Organic farming. “Students have to work on ground to reach the heights of knowledge and experience” said Dr. Shukla and she also expressed her hope that this panel discussion would give an exposure about the industry ground realities and values to students.

The Trade Commissioner of the country of largest producer of Copper “Chile”, Mr. Nestor Riveors, Prochile gave an overview about his country and said that whatever the sector is, Sales & Marketing are important part of any business, therefore students should focus on building their marketing & selling skils while studying.

Mr. Abhishek Jain, Zonal Credit Head- North, Kotak Mahindra shared his views and said that now Agriculture and Organic Culture sector has broaden its wings and gives ample number of career opportunities to MBA(Organic Culture) students to pursue in near future. Students can opt for Retail Sector, Banking Sector, Relationship Management Sector, etc. in the respective field. “In banks there are relationship managers who deal with farmers for lending money to them where both the knowledge about this industry and management skils are required” added Mr. Jain. He also added that MBA students can pursue their career in Agriculture and Food Business as well. Sharing her views with the august gathering.

Capt. Ashima Agrawal, category Head-Organic Food said that expectations from MBA students in Agriculture and Food Business are very high as they are expected them to be more knowledgeable about the respectoive industry better than others. Basic knowledge of Retail, knowledge of Food laws, Knowledge of Organic Farming etc. are the basic requirements while recruiting in this sector.
