Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Air Force and Amity Universities to facilitate Air Force Officials with Higher Education at Lower Cost
In its continuous endeavor to serve the Nation, Amity Group has always been the pioneer in providing special facilities and conduct educational programs especially designed to cater the needs of Defence Personnel and their families.
The Indian Air Force recognizing the World Class facilities and educational standards at Amity University, approved its empanelment, for officers to attend Post Graduate Programmes on Study Leave. On 30 Aug a team from Air Headquarters led by Air Marshal Anil Chopra, AVSM, VM, Air Officer Personnel visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida and signed an MoU.
In the MOU, Amity has agreed to provide admission to Indian Air Force (IAF) nominated officers in specialized courses / degree / programmes of the Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida or at any other Amity University (Rajasthan at Jaipur, Haryana at Manesar & Madhya Pradesh at Gwalior) under the agreed terms. Amity will facilitate Indian Air force Personnel with the various courses through conduct of DGR Sponsored Programs, Leadership & Communication Skils Capsules, etc. The MoU was signed by Rear Admiral R.C.Kochar, Deputy Pro Vice chancellor, Amity University and Air Vice Marshal S. Kumar, Indian Air force.
The courses will also be offered through Distance Learning Programmes. The modes of Distance Learning Programmes are - correspondence, Distance Learning with PCP and Online Learning. The list of such courses includes various short term and MBA/MCA programs with specialization in the following areas:-
• Human Resource Management
• Information Technology
• Marketing
• International Business
• Finance
• Operations
• Insurance
Addressing the august gathering Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University extended a very warm welcome to Air Marshal Anil Chopra, AVSM, VM, Air Officer Personnel and other Air force officials and expressed her happiness towards signing the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Amity University Uttar Pradesh and other Amity Universities and Indian Air force. She said that Amity institute of Education and Training has introduced topical courses and Amity would surely be working towards the enhancement of its quality from time to time. “In future Amity also aspires to design and introduce need based training programs for serving Air force and Defence Officials” she exclaimed.
Sharing his views during the occasion, Air Marshal Anil Chopra, AVSM, VM lauded the ambience, quality of faculty members at Amity and shared his thoughts for Amity University and said Amity is doing a great job in Nation Building. “Indian Air Force provides comprehensive training programs with world class facilities to its officers, but when it comes to educating them I think Amity can play this role best” he said. While sharing his views about the MOU, he said “we want Amity to give higher education to Air Force Officers to facilitate them with better second career opportunity after retirement”.
