Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences organises lecture on “Intervention Program for Generalized Anxiety Disorder Patients"
Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences, Noida organized a lecture on “Intervention Program for Generalized Anxiety Disorder Patients "by Dr. Aradhana Balodi Bhardwaj, Asst Professor, AIPS on June 14, 2012 as a part of AIPS Faculty Lecture Series Programme.
Dr. Aradhana shared the findings and conclusion of her PhD Thesis. She shared with the audiences that GAD Generalized Anxiety Disorder patients were given Cognitive Behavior Intervention program that comprises of a general introduction about the GAD, Jacabson Relaxation exercises, yoga therapy(Pranayam, Asanas,Meditation),Cognitive Restructuring, Problem Orientation Training. Results depicted that Interventions program helped GAD patients in reducing general anxiety, depression and enhanced self esteem and general health. The main finding of the present study emphasized on the effectiveness of combined intervention of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Pharmacotherapy in combating Generalized Anxiety Disorder and followed by CBT.
Dr. Palta also shared her comments and said that combined interventions with improved lifestyle, use of yogic therapy, especially meditation can help to combat anxiety disorder. Question answer session was interactive and informative for the audience. Ms Anasuya Dasgupta congratulated the speaker for making such a presentation.
Ms Anasuya Dasgupta Asst. Prof -II,Cordinator AIBHAS and Faculty members from AIPS, AIBHAS, ASET, AIETSM attended the Lecture. The session was well accepted and appreciated by the audience.
