Amity School of Engineering & Technology organized a Guest lecture on the topic “Fifth Generation Computing and Beyond” by Mr. Avijit Dutta, Senior Technical Director, Scientist F, National Informatics centre, Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Technology is moving at a rapid rate and to keep pace with these advancements in technology, Amity School of Engineering & Technology organized a guest lecture by an industry expert. The resource person, Mr. Avijit Dutta deliberated upon the different generations of computing where he mentioned that in earlier times the slogan was “power is shifting from steel to IT” and in today’s time “power is shifting from IT to knowledge”. He discussed about knowledge being an economical entity which is non-diminishing its value as time passes. Knowledge management is necessary in todays economic scenario and IT people should strive for it. Mr. Dutta discussed the future computing to be invisible computing where in devices like computers will be so miniature nearly not visible to the naked eyes and all routine jobs will be done by them.
The Guest lecture was graced by the presence of Dr. K.M. Soni, Deputy Director, ASET, Maj. Gen. A. K .Jain, Addl. Director, ASET and Asst. Prof. Nitasha Hasteer, Acting Head, Dept. of IT, ASET and attended by the faculty and students of department of Information Technology, ASET.
